333 - DOCTOR GORE (1973) + DOCTOR DEATH (1973) ft. Oliver Leach

This month, movies have been gay to a variety of extremities with no shortage of themes of “suppression”. Well we’re throwing suppression out the window as well as anything having anything to do with polite society because we’re finally getting to a John Water’s film. John Waters and his eccentric Baltimore circle of friends and freaks had been making movies for a handful of years already, but when he finally released his 1972 film “PINK FLAMINGOS” upon the public, it represented a distinct point in his career. It’s a showcase of notorious Baltimore personalities that, quite frankly, seemed way more fun and accessible than those folks up in Andy Warhol’s Factory. This movie stars Divine, Edith Massey, Mink Stole, David Lochary and Mary Vivian Pearce. John Water’s philosophy of filth, as represented in Pink Flamingos, may be very unsettling at some points but you’ll be laughing twice as much a you’ll be wretching. It’s a war of filth and the god of filth is Babs aka Divine. Can try hard haters, The Marbles, even hope to out-filth the Queen? Davis, sempre em busca de novas direções musicais, utilizou grooves repetitivos, batidas pesadas e improvisações desconstruídas, desafiando as convenções do jazz tradicional. Embora inicialmente criticado, o álbum foi mais tarde reconhecido como um álbum à frente de seu tempo, influenciando o jazz fusion, o hip-hop e a música eletrônica. Let me tell you something about life, old chum. It’s only a cabaret. Kill Nazis. November is for the musicals and we’re RAISING THE CURTAIN & BELTING THE CHORUS all month long and it’s time to hit up a Bob Fosse joint in this iconic adaptation starring stage legend and Queen of the Theatre Nerds, Liza Minelli. Bob is learning this shit for the first time but you theater nerds already know about the most prolific film in  Minelli’s life and career and it’s none other than Fosse’s 1961 hit “CABARET” also starring Michael York, Joel Grey and more. There is no richer era to strike negative social parallels than early to mid-century Germany. The Kit Kat Club seems like a grand ‘ol time but it’s only a matter of time before the audience turns on their entertainment. In the thick of it is Sally Bowls, lore accurate OG Manic Pixie Dream Girl, and her timid soon-to-be lover, Brian. It’s a freewheeling, song slinging, sugar baby life. Love has its ups and downs and sometimes you end hooking up with your girlfriend’s sugar daddy. It’s a rather unique story to tell to a broad audience in 1972 (and before). Hi all, so I have assembled and produced this collection of many of my favorite tunes as my own hobby (practically all instrumentals, and many during COVID lock-downs!) and I have accumulated over 2,600,000 plays across the world which is awesome!

I am much more of a producer that a musician. The music is mostly based on midi cover tracks often downloaded from the Internet but heavily reproduced and re-imagined variously on my two Yamaha keyboards (Clavinova and PSR 975), but also using PC midi editing & DAW software.

More recently, I have included some of my more original electronic music which I produced over the past two decades under the name of Funkleberry in order to consolidate my Soundcloud accounts.
