Round Two: Nerd Life

This is a track about the reality of your life as a nerd.  Media defines our geeky selves in very stereotypical and often times caricatured ways.  What is it like being you as a geek?  What was it like?  Were there good days?  Where is your community?  Playing the part of a character can be a real escape, but hip hop, and much music in general, is rooted in the experiences, struggles, and successes of the artists that make it.  Forgive me for this following sentence.  Let’s keep it real in round two, teams!

I've been threatening to make another seasonal beverage anthem since @Pumpkin-Spice-Illuminatte, and as with most things I intend to do for years, this wouldn't have happened without my cherished friends dragging me across the finish line.

@Klopfenpop made the entire instrumental, playing upright bass and electric guitar and a wide variety of shakers for the richest, creamiest sleigh bell groove possible.

@MC-Lars joined me on vocals, which is SUCH a treat - we've collaborated like five or six times in the last 9 years, but it was always at his suggestion, because he is just bursting with great ideas and seems always ready to answer when inspiration calls.  I'm so happy to be hosting him!  HE IS A LITTLE SWEETHEART.

I'm not religious but I did grow up with family christmas as a ritual, and home made egg nog was part of it. Now I'm into super snobby organic glass bottle nog, but in between there was like two decades of just ok commercially manufactured stuff.  I didn't bother with it for a while, until I became a barista and encountered the good stuff as part of making high quality egg nog lattes.

In Canada, our food packaging has to be labeled bilingually, so sometimes you learn that French-speaking people have very different words for familiar products, and have somehow independently developed an entire culture of their own where that different word doesn't just clumsily translate the English original???  One of my favourites is "lait de poule."  Egg nog is known in French as "chicken milk."
