Model Citizen is the guest #50 from this edition of the morphcast.

Manchester born and based DJ Model Citizen has been a regular face in the North West & beyond’s underground rave scene and has been rapidly making a name for himself up and down the UK.

Choosing to remain anonymous, he takes his listeners on a journey through different soundscapes, always letting his meticulous selections do the talking for him.

Generally choosing to start at lower tempos, and more stripped back tracks, he is a master at slowly feathering the tension upwards towards more percussive, groovy tracks until his fabled, almighty closings.

He is without doubt one of Manchester’s brightest sparks at the moment and for certain a name to keep watch of in the coming months.

Alex Sparrow is a DJ who has come up through the ranks of the Cork scene in recent times and forged a particular sound that is very hypnotic and rhythm based. Taking inspirations from the likes of DVS1, Oscar Mulero and RRose, he creates moments of tension that allows the listener to be drawn into the mix. 
Being taught by the likes of Doug Cooney and Sunil Sharpe in B.I.F.E, Alex has gained a wealth of knowledge from some of Irelands finest and put this into his mix where he goes into the deeper side of techno. Having recently launched and become a Co-founder of the new Cork based collective Bare Bones, the future is looking bright as he tries to display his sound to the mass’.

For Strave, the most important things are the purpose of music and to have a moment of total freedom and self-expression.

Strave's goal is to release emotions and exude intensity and rhythm in his sets. His inspiration grew from regularly visiting clubs and venues, where different techno and ambient sets shaped his sound. His sound is characterised by a rhythmic and organic style. He has been into electronic music since childhood, inspired by his stepfather, who is a passionate techno DJ himself. Currently, Strave is constantly renewing his sound and keeping it as interesting and innovative as possible. With his organic yet tight sound, Strave brings a moment of collective sense of freedom through his music.

Yax is a techno DJ from Adelaide, Australia drawing influence from the likes of artists such as DVS1, Jeff Mills, and Setaoc Mass. His style is continuously evolving through extensive digging for deep, groovy, hypnotic, and minimal techno, as he takes inspiration from the 90s and early 00s era, while still adding a modern twist to his sets. Yax also curates a weekly podcast series called Yax Invites, which began in 2021 with the aim of showcasing talent from around the world with an emphasis on extended techno mixes. ED PODCAST NO.3 - HMMND

Fast. Impulsive. Techno. Three words to establish and define what the artist known as @Egotot is all about. The young musician, hailing from the deep south of Germany, sets quite the pace when it comes to his vision of electronic music, regarding both tempo as well as quality. His beats, be in the studio or in the DJ booth, appear to come and arrange themselves seemingly with no effort. A Rave-infected sonic testing ground without ever feeling like a simple Rave pastiche. A vision of techno that is obviously inspired by its sound of the 90s, but neither exceedingly aggressive, nor excessively happy. Egotot has a special taste for rugged, up-tempo grooves which demand their own time to breathe and reveal their power. A sonic all-purpose weapon to be used on, for, and by the dance floor. However, his sense for music doesn’t stop at the edge of dancefloor-oriented Rave. It goes far beyond, right to and through the sometimes more and sometimes less subtle tides of electronic music. This exemplarily reflects in his very own imprint, Schimmer Records, which he founded in 2019. The label has, in a rather short period of time, already evolved to a sonic reservoir of all different shades, all of which share a commonality – quality in production, love to detail, and an undeniable appeal to avid devotees of electronic music of all kinds. There is nothing confusing about Egotot’s take on music. It is clean-cut, it is straightforward, it is always effective. The Industrial clout, the fast groove, the merciless rigor – this is how Techno should sound in the 21st century, and Egotot is its perfect avatar.

Five years ago, Wencel ventured into the world of electronics, immersing herself indefinitely. She developed a keen interest in digging and became addicted to the process. After a year and a half of practice, she entered the Polish club scene. Wencel has performed at various venues including Jasna1, Smolna, Drugi Dom, Ulica Elektryków, and Ciało. Since this year, she has been a resident DJ at Schimmer Records. Currently based in Warsaw, she continues to pursue her passion for music and deliver captivating performances.

Pioneering Kosovan techno artist Vegim's most recent label, Alhena, has included up-and-coming artists like DSNGDMANN, Lorenzo Fasano, and KNTZ.

Nicko Shuo is making all the right moves releasing on Vegim's main label TMMR, as well as Dani Sbert's imprint, Ket Robinson's KR Records, Luca Maniaci's Mind Games, Paula Cazenave's Combine Audio, Dosis and Death Bell, amongst others.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Don't You Dare Mock Me" that has a commanding presence straight off. Cyclical modular textures of electric-like thunder present a certain doom and dystopian soundscape, as it blends a gritty club-focused sound with thought-provoking contemporary sound design.

Israel is only the executioner, every nation which has armed that country in the past year is an accessory to that genocide, an accomplice, a facilitator.  We cannot talk about war crimes because when you target unarmed civilians, mostly women and children, we are talking about a massacre, like terrorists do, not a war. The people who orchestrated that massacre, in the US, the most duplicitous, followed by those of the UK, Germany, France, and probably a few lesser ones should be tried for crimes against humanity just as well as Netanyahu and his cabinet, because it has been going on for two years, generously reported by media of all kinds, so the enablers knew exactly how the arms were to be used, as a tool for revenge, domination, and humiliation of the Palestinian people.  The conflict has ceased to be about the defense of anything for months.

The parties responsible have made a mockery of decency, morals, fairness, proportion, or justice, not to mention empathy.  Of what little there was, these concepts will be a lot longer to come back than they were to be struck down.

I have not been able to recover access to my other account [https://soundcloud.com/ha-kekong] for a couple of years.  I have tried a few times to get back into it but SoundCloud doesn't trust me.  Same phone number, same email addresses, and they still claim that they can't verify my identity.  I created that account about three years ago as a substitute to my regular account which SoundCloud temporarily closed.  They closed it as part of some upgrade procedure in their system, the result of a bug that affected many accounts, about two years ago.  Since SC did not inform its users I didn't know if that was permanent or not, so I created that other account which I can't access. You can't see it because of the angle with which I took the shot, aiming down, but beyond those blocks is the sea.  To the left is the Mediterranean, to the right is the Atlantic Ocean.  No it's not Gibraltar, but a little bit further West. ... Actually I checked recently and it is further North more than West, I thought I was facing South when in fact I probably was facing the Atlantic ocean, which is why I suppose the waves were of a decent size where we were.
