"I randomly met Justin on a lurking mission at Shepard's office when I started interning at OBEY Clothing. At the time, I was kind of thrown back at his appearance (no disrespect). Here's this dude, sitting at a normal sized desk with his arms and legs so awkwardly angled, he reminded me of a daddy-long-leg in front of a matchbox. Memory, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the very first time we even said a word to each other ended up being an hour long conversation. It was like we were childhood friends, catching up as adults, explaining what we did professionally, what was going on personally, what we liked, what we hated, and all that in between. He listened to my bullshit, and I listened to his... Thinking back, we had some great banter back and forth, me being the fucked-up, negative smut-peddler, and him as the positive, rational bloke. Together, we schemed on projects and made an effort to see each other if we were in the neighborhood.

Throughout his battle with cancer, we spoke about it, but it was never a bum out like you'd expect it to be. It was just something that he had to deal with, and being that positive dude, he just wanted to hang out and enjoy life. We loved eating at the Oinkster together, I kept him up-to-date with the L.A. Beat Scene & Rap Mixtapes, he kept me in the loop with the Gallery and all his Artist friends, and most of all, our ladies got along.... A flawless formula of friendship, if you ask me.

The thought of Justin gone brings me to tears I can't hold back. Justin, I will always remember our chat and hug at your book release, I am (and have always been) so proud of you, my friend. You'll forever be missed. These are a few tracks I've been feeling lately and it just felt right to do this for you. Enjoy!!"

Sam is a resident at the infamous East London party Pumping Velvet which takes place every two months at the much loved Dalston Superstore. For those in the know, this is a venue with a storied reputation as one of the most influential LGBTQ+ venues in the city and has been a home and safe space to music lovers and free spirits for many, many years.

As such, the role of a resident DJ in such as space is in high demand and highly acclaimed. Only the best and the most creative selectors are given the reigns. We are delighted to spotlight and showcase one such DJ in Sam PV who has built a reputation as a talented selector who knows how to read a room with skill and decorum.

Introduced to us by a friend, this mix takes us on a whirlwind tour across a breadth of sounds, featuring both a UK influence and music from further afield. It’s a riotous selection of Garage, Kuduro, Breakbeat and beyond which firmly celebrates the modern sound of club culture in London.

Dedicated Swallower Of Fashion is a cacophony of syncopated psychedelic madness that draws from his enviably expansive record collection and challenging DJ sets, dusting off handpicked fuzz-ridden-break-heavy platters from as far and wide as Malaysia, France, India, Germany, USA, Russia, Spain, Columbia, Italy and Indonesia.
 
Not content with his involvement in the aforementioned labours of love, the South London rare-disc-detective divides his time working alongside fellow B-Music crusaders and label mate Andy Votel not only in unearthing schizoid channel-hopping artifacts from the alternate-annals of pop history, but also uncovering the finest in off-kilter independent music for Manchester’s very own homemade and house-proud, singular-minded non-label Twisted Nerve (along with co-label boss Badly Drawn Boy), as well as manning his bespoke pocket empire Battered Ornaments Records – responsible for cultivating the much sought after debut releases of reactionary fuzzed out mutant psych misfits Wolf People and cosmic Anglo-krautrockers The Laughing Windows.

DJ duties have seen him traverse the globe sharing needle time with the likes of David Holmes, The Gaslamp Killer, Edan, Jarvis Cocker, Andrew Weatherall, Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals), Richard Norris (Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve/The Time And Space Machine) and Graham Massey (808 State), whilst compilation call-ups have seen him pit his wits and his wax against The Gaslamp Killer, Bob Stanley (St. Etienne), and Chris Geddes (Belle & Sebastian) amongst others.
