Jay Spades Is a 27 year-old  American Hip-Hop Artist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Spades' (an Acronym for South Philly All Day Everyday Son, A common greeting he heard amongst older hustlers growing up in early 90's Philadelphia) music is defined heavily by his tales of early life on the Streets of South Philadelphia. Stories of pain and redemption and lessons in family strength and expression of self are major underlying themes in his most recent projects. Which is a far cry from his early mixtape-style verses that landed him a brief time with a little known and now defunct D.I.Y. label called Clich  Many of Spade's Influences stem from early to late 90's Hip-Hop and Rock and Roll. Some of the most notable of said artists are: Rakim, Jay-Z and Roc a Fella Records, Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. He's taken great influence by those who lead the new school as well. "I was heavily influenced by (childish) Gambino. People don't know what it's like when you're a black male who choses to defy the standard stereotypes. Or to get to the point where you can say that you don't conduct yourself in that way and then have a person tell you you're white because you don't act that way. My music is for those guys. Those who know what it's like in the hood, and even might have looked up to the type of cats that were into that kind of stuff, but decided it wasn't for them. Those who walk the same lonely ass path that I did." Jay spade's next project entitled "Spadedaze," an EP that "showcases many sides of the Dragon born Gemini" has been pushed back multiple times, but is set to release sometime in the summer of 2015. The Project features production and lyrics by Spade and Russian born Hip-Hop prodigy Monsieur Norkus
