Far past new sticks and rocks just to see

He felt the pull of the current’s flow
into lonely water that bubbled fresh and cold.

Unfamiliar and cold, it would not let go.

About his place back in that iron red hole.
So he turned back and never got to see
The river up ahead that flowed into the sea.
