Ho ho ho, the mystery-shrouded Rrose - named after Marcel Duchamp’s eponymous persona, punches in right on cue for Xmas with an absolute monster of a two-hour jaunt into their exquisitely twisted headspace. Having served up some of the finest techno slabs of the past decade through the likes of Sandwell District, Stroboscopic Artefacts and now their own dedicated imprint, Eaux, Rrose steps in the series with a bonkers mix of dusty techno hustle-and-bustle, neatly alternating sequences of pumping 4x4 aerobatics, searing, noise-adjacent outbursts and eerie melodies to hypnotic effect. A constant balancing act of raw power and haunting score, Rrose’s RYC mix takes us on a deep and fascinating trip into genre-unbound territories, where only abandon and wildness reign supreme. Polygonia 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦 | Tanzwüste @ Fusion 2024

Takumi Inamoto’s one of two minds behind Transcendence (the other fellow beat hawker DJ Maria), the Kanto region’s highest proposal for community-oriented music nights. It’s a rave collective that’s proven a trusty channel for his brand of squelchy, Goa-infused trance, profound and ritualistic techno with a direct line to the limbic brain. An expansive sound that has evolved from a keen affinity with Japanese rave culture and out of his steadily growing collection of CDs and records. This master selector deals in skittish rhythms and ominously brewing atmospherics, and walks a hazy path through the twilight realm that precipitates a kind of reverence that’s often rare. From his native land to KUNE Festival and Amsterdam's Garage Noord, these prolific beats are exporting a style palpably his and putting his sigil on the ascendant. Bassiani Podcast 238 is his prototypical sound, a throbbing mass of beats that morphs larger in the direction of unmapped worlds, a two-hour studio mix that unapologetically pulls you towards its slick and hazy centre.

Acronym first surfaced in late 2012 on his own imprint Dimensional Exploration, putting out mindbending music and working in the sphere of similar peers like Abdulla Rashim. A few months later he published a 12? on Rashim’s newly found label and platform Northern Electronics. He has now shown himself to be a prolific producer of deep, percussive techno by continuously releasing EP's and remixes on a variety of respected labels such as Semantica Records, Fields Records and Tresor.

Hosting a legendary, long-running series of cutting-edge club nights, running a number of record labels, working as a DJ, producer, and remixer, he has functioned as both a visionary vital connector, ambassador and creative participant progressing techno in the UK. 

For Bassiani Podcast series, Steve Bicknell presents his well-established S.B. Project. Over the course of the set, he switches back and forth between late ’80s  materials and more recent cuts with a similar intensity. The whole set’s mixed with colorful, dreamy house tunes, that shows off the now Berlin based DJ’s talent for drawing lines between different eras and styles.

Imogen is already seen to be shaping the next generation of Electronic music. Originally from Southampton, Imogen moved to London to study music production and then put her own parties on before she was 18 just to be able to play in the clubs. She first created a platform with her radio residency to showcase already legendary and rising talent, since then things have moved pretty fast for her already playing at Berghain and opening The Moat for Dimensions festival.

Now the winter is approaching Imogen has a string of releases in the pipeline; her first release is coming out this month on Sunil Sharpes label ‘Earwiggle’ along side Giant Swan, Delta Funktionen and Autumns. There is also another piece from her on Mumdance’s Shared Meanings VA out later this year.
