After a three-year-long hiatus, Lone's marks the return of his Magicwire label with Lance Neptune's Animal Eclipse. The six tracks of ethereal sounds reintroduce the imprint aptly, with "Janus" coming up trumps for us. Synthesised brass stabs and a broken syncopated beat slots perfectly into sonic parallels with Lone's former Reality Testing and Galaxy Gardens on Magicwire's parent label, R&S. A well versed, well loved sound that gives us another much needed glimpse of sun.

Panthera Krause's music-making habits teeter on the precipice between moody and outright fun house; a technique which has done wonders for the Leipzig melody maker since his early years. The mould was set with his weekly podcasts and 2012's "Cassandra" on local imprint O*RS. Then further solidified via the Yorikke EP in 2013 - a three-track mid-summer trip on Riotvan - and the delights of his Rules EP (2014) on Lobster Theremin and the Laika EP (2014) on Riotvan.

The Uncanny Valley connection was established during the back end of last year. The pumping “Coochie” formed part of the Uncanny Valley: Five Years On Parole release and was quite the foretaste. And here we arrive at "Umami"; a lesson in colourful and let-loose four-to-the-floor which first saw light on our recent Dresden show with the UV fam.

Applebottom is currently one of the most respected young producers in the UK.

The Bristolian, barely making his way out of his teens, has already caught the ear of some of the most sought-after labels in the business as well as the radio establishment. Annie Mac can’t get enough of him; he’s had releases on Kerri Chandler’s MadTech and Zed Bias’ Biasonic to name a couple, and his most recent single on UK powerhouse Black Butter Records was just the icing on the cake for a young man many dance heads see as one of the future figureheads of dance music. Applebottom has come to be considered a beatmaker able to transverse genres with that rarest of production talents: the consistent ability to make a straight-up club banger.

He shares a pioneering view of its style and output. “I think a lot of people have just gotten too comfortable making the same sounding dance music - and for me that kind of defeats the point, there’s so much variety in it. I feel that particularly for my generation anyway, we’re a lot younger as producers and it’s kind of our job to be that next generation that produces that next sound. We should be striving to make something new and different and build our own vision of what it should be.”
