Perera Elsewhere is back with her first new album in five years. Entitled 'Home', the forthcoming record – due out on LA-based label Friends of Friends – sees the experimental 'doom-folk' artist born Sasha Perera exploring an even freer sound than she’s previously pursued, across records such as 'All of This' and 2013’s 'Everlast'. 

Weighty, meditative and fit to blast a hole out your speakers, her Crack Mix is a fine reconciliation of her wide-ranging interests, skipping between the jazz styling of Shabaka Hutchings and the seductive club sounds of Leonce via pacy thrillers from Nia Archives, DJ Hype, Miss Red and more. Jake & Isaac are masters of the late night/early morning mind-and-body-benders, and are local legends in our circles in Bristol for it. They had a big influence on our musical journey and trajectory in the early days of this weird amorphous Escalator To Nowhere thing. It was a privilege to get stuck into an extended sesh with them. Won't be the last!

Having left a vivid impression in 2015 with his debut 12" 'A Rational Tangle' and 2nd EP 'Pattern Damage' on The Death of Rave. Warp sub-label Arcola relaunched with his single 'Contraposition' in 2018.
His debut album ATAXIA for Planet Mu rewires hyper-chromatic UK garage and pointillist footwork, establishing him as both a disruptive and essential new voice in British underground club music.

In 2019 he became resident at No Bounds Festival in his hometown of Sheffield. With recent live shows at Nyege Nyege Festival (UG), GES-2 (RU), Serralves (PT), Irish Museum of Modern Art (IRL), Berghain (DE), OHM (DE), Cafe Oto (UK), Glasgow Centre for Contemporary Arts (UK), Empty Gallery (HK), Summerhall (UK) as well as taking part in artists residencies at yU+co[lab] in Hong Kong and with Counterflows in India 2016 - 2017.

Q. How long have you been involved in the NY music scene?
A. I would say 7 years.

Q. Tell us a little bit about this mix.
A. This mix was a therapy and a necessity for me to make. I usually don’t get the chance to make non-dance mixes because I always tend to DJ in the style of what I would do in a club context. 

But now that we are all experiencing this pandemic, I realized how it was important to share some of my favorite soothing music to people. I have an extensive collection of non-dance music songs that I would like to be sharing with more people..
