The story of King Street Sounds starts at the Paradise Garage in New York City, the iconic nightclub that birthed the soulful house music movement. Once home to the late DJ Larry Levan, the Paradise Garage has had a major influence on the career choice and artistic style of house royalty such as David Morales, Louie Vega and Junior Vasquez, and was a keystone for the region's LGBT culture, particularly for Black and Latin American men. This spirit, along with the iconic music the Garage cultivated, inspired the foundation of King Street Sounds in 1993. 

Japanese founder Hisa Ishioka continues to spearhead the label’s output, maintaining King Street Sounds’ position at the forefront of dance culture. Predominantly focusing on its roots in house music whilst also pushing the sonic boundaries of the label to include Afro, Latin, jazz and tech-infused records, King Street Sounds has a global repertoire with a worldwide following. Household names such as Blaze, Barbara Tucker and Ultra Naté released exceedingly successful records such as ‘Most Precious Love’ and ‘Party Girl’ on the label, while house legends Kerri Chandler and Dennis Ferrer signed their seminal albums ‘Trionisphere’ and ‘The World As I See It’ to King Street Sounds. 

Fast forward to today, King Street Sounds continues to honor the legacy of the past thirty years, weaving its music into the modern ecosystem to educate and entertain new ears and existing fans. Through the continued work of label founder Hisa and a dedicated team of dance music experts, a new wave of talent pumps the beating heart of this legendary label.

Joseph Sinatra, was born in Brussels in Belgium but lives in Catania, Sicily. He beganhis career as a deejay by
collaborating with some local radios and soon stood out among his colleagues in the area, succeeding in
establishing himself in the mostimportant and prestigious Sicilian clubs thanks also to his proverbial position and
his charisma. Characterized by the ability to choose the right sound, each time he creates a different atmosphere in
which he manages to bring everyone together for a one-of-a-kind event.

He began his career as a DJ Producer in 2009 collaborating with many national and international artists.

Joseph is constantly evolving and in August 2020 he released a new single, a cover of “Jerusalema” in collaboration with
Mikel Miki & Cacciola, a deep house version that immediately strikes for its elegant and refined sound and
reaches over 2.5 MILLION streams on Spotify, and 20 MILLION on Youtube and number on ITUNES on various parts of the world.

By now the name of Joseph Sinatra is confirmed more and more among the most prolific DJ / Producers and most present in the National and International charts.

With his recent hits "ONE WAY TICKET" (# 1 in DMC CHART Poland, # 14 Club Chart UK, # 9 Deejay Chart in France, # 6 Austria, # 15 Finland, # 5 Turkia etc. )

and the latest "FLAUTA MAGICA" (it reached the English #Top 10 Club Chart as well as in France, Poland and #Top 20 Beatport) gained international attention as one of the best prepared DJ / Producers in Italy and in Europe!

While Flauta Magica is still "spinning" among the most played records in IBIZA, his new "NOCHE DE BAHIA" comes as a surprise, always inspired by the Brasilian House sound, now his trademark!

I started DJing back in 1979, playing Jazz-Funk, Soul, Funk, Disco, Punk & Reggae, but once bitten by the House bug in the late 80's that has been my main musical genre.

I have played everywhere and with everyone and his dog (spot).

Currently keeping myself busy with my weekly House of Love show on Graffiti Kings Radio (GKR) and occasional guest slots on Havin It Radio.
