We are happy to welcome yet another new face to our ever growing artist roster, though Rico Puestel is definitely not an unknown name for fans of electronic music! Rico is - amongst many other things - a trained pianist, a self-trained guitarist, a drummer, a musicologist, a Zappa enthusiast, a struggler, a neurotic, a martyr of art and, most-notably: A genuine, perpetually driven music producer! Gregor has been a fan of Rico´s music for years, and - being blown off his socks by his recently released full length album Obi Thine Xi - had to ask Rico for some original music to be released on Break New Soil. Et voila: „Afar“ landed in our mailbox like a beacon of light in these dark times for club culture! On top of the three outstanding original tracks, we couldn´t be happier to have Alexander Kowalski working his magic on „Axioms". Once again, Alexander delivered an example to underline his status of being one of the most in-demand producers in the realm of modern electronic music! To round things off we are stoked to present a full-on peaktime rework of „Afar“ by the duo of the moment that is Joyhauser! We believe we have quite the package for you to enjoy!

Reset Robot drops a new album on his label Whistleblower with an impressive 13 track release that showcases his versatility as a producer.

Covering a broad cross-section of genres, the release explores all corners of the dance floor while also incorporating some afterhours chill-out elements.

Based in the UK city of Portsmouth, Reset Robot has previously released on labels including ranging from techno imprints such as Adam Beyer's Drumcode and Scuba's Hotflush to house focused labels such as Sasha's Last Night On Earth and the iconic Mobilee Records.

Although he is well-known for his club tracks, this album is a chance for David Robertson aka Reset Robot to explore the more obscure side of his music taste, and the output in a synthesizer laden body of work that’s on a par with the seminal works of others such as Bicep and Burial.

Exploring brokenbeat rhythms, ambient textures and intricate melodies, this album is a thought-provoking selection that flows with a captivating suspense.

Subdued and introverted, it’s got a lo-fi and dreamy aesthetic that occasionally lets fly into a dance floor orientated groove. “Chords N Thing”, “Single Coil” and “Waves” are both examples of this, but tracks like “How Deep”, “Crows” and “Unknown Unknowns” are at opposite ends of the same spectrum with their ambient moods.

The projects are often shrouded in secrecy, but in addition to his own music, Reset Robot also works behind the scenes with some of electronic music’s biggest names, and this album is testament to why so many trust his production skills.

His modern, yet classic approach to writing music gained him a reputation of respect amongst the biggest names in the game and Alexander manages to cement it with every single release he puts out there. We are delighted to be able to release his newest EP „They Came At Night“ with 4 seminal Techno cuts on vinyl and one bonus track for the digital jocks. The sound of Berlin DJ and producer Johannes Menzel can mainly be identified as an interplay of deep/powerful kicks and raw techno basslines, paired with melodic, hypnotic - almost trance-like - lead and pad elements. Also, he expresses his passion for this contrasting type of techno in his DJ sets. However, just producing is not enough for Johannes. He also likes to share his skills with other producers. Some of his work such as Ableton templates or samples can be found on Productionmusiclive.com.  Also, other musicians can look over his shoulder by watching his screencast sessions. Those can be found on his channel “Ableton Techno Vlog” on YouTube.
The feeling of being able to immerse into a world where limits are defined only by yourself motivates him to spend every free minute in the studio continuing the exciting journey through the world of techno.

gepaart mit melodischen, hypnotischen - fast schon Trance-artigen - Lead und Pad Elementen. Seine Leidenschaft für diese kontrastreiche Art von Techno lebt er auch in seinen DJ Sets aus. Doch Produzieren allein reicht Johannes nicht. Er teilt sein Wissen auch gern mit anderen Musikproduzenten.
