Circoloco Radio 127 - Acid Mondays

In response to the global crisis currently affecting all of us, every weekend we’ll be profiling some of our favourite clubs around the world on a day their dancefloor should be full. Our first entry is Glasgow’s most famous and longest running electronic music venue, Sub Club. 
 
Known affectionately as “Subbie” by its regulars, Sub Club is one of the world’s premier nightclubs. Since its opening in Glasgow in 1987, it’s transcended being just another venue to become a beloved cornerstone of the culture, as famous for its low ceiling as it is its wild, intensely charged atmosphere. Every DJ leaves the place with a story of their own, but they all say more or less the same thing: go to the Subbie if you want a proper party.

Domenic, who’s been a Sub Club resident alongside Harri since 1994, prepared a three-hour mix for us to represent the sound of the club.

"It was a warm Thursday night and I rode up with my crew to the Mayan Warrior linked up with Robot Heart and couldn’t believe my eyes. 
In 9 years of Burning Man I had never seen so many people at one party. 
I always choose to play just one event during the week at Black Rock, preferring to spend the rest of my days and nights exploring and enjoying all the various levels of this incredible experience without the hassle of running from one party to the next. And preparing for my set around 7am I sensed that this was going to be a magnificent morning. I was a little nervous but I had those good butterflies swirling and as the vermilion hue of the pre-dawn began to rise, I stepped up and played this set that you can listen to now. 
I will never forget it.
Being invited to play the Friday sunrise on both buses was a dream come true and I’d like to thank all the thousands and thousands of people that joined me for this special moment and to the dedicated heroes of the Burn that made it possible.

This mix was recorded just before Rona hit us. I met the promoter, Spencer Miles in Berlin while playing maybe one of the best sets of my life with David Muallem at Panorama Bar. Spencer played before us and stayed almost the entire 16 hours of our set. He told me about this little party he threw in Portland for 200 people and asked me to come so I did a few months later. The party was wild. Real. American. Leftists. Intellectual outsider shit and one of the best parties I’ve ever played in America. There was a giant Ouija board on the wall. It was a true freak out. This is part 1 & there's also apart 2 to this mix. All vinyl and me playing some really freaky stuff... A-Z, here to there and a good portrayal of where I was musically before the world changed.

Up until now, we have visited Greece in our Series on three separate occasions and we are returning to this mystical country once again for the next story in our journey. 

@dsf-greece is widely regarded as one of the most promising and unique producers in the world, with releases on some of our most cherished labels including @alldayidream @akbalmusic @shantiradio to name a few, and we are so pleased to be able to welcome to our Series… we have admired him for a long time and it’s a pleasure to walk around his local town with him.
