DONE BY SUNRISE are an acoustic/pop band from Worcester. The quartet are comprised of Loren Howland (vocals, soprano ukulele), Scott Howland (guitar, backing vocals), Jodie Howland (vocals, tenor ukulele) and Ross Nicholls (cajon.)

The self-styled band bring together a rich history of music, theatre and performance; while Scott is self-taught, Loren and Jodie began singing in a musical theatre group from the age of eight. Their music is exemplified by quirky songs, feel-good vibes and catchy melodies, backed by a simple acoustic rhythm. All three members sing, their voices blend together to create a powerful and inspired vocal harmony.

Loren Howland said, “We have quite an eclectic musical taste; we’re influenced by pop, rock, folk, hip-hip and more. We love to write happy songs with uplifting melodies and rich harmonies, that’s the core of our music.”

The songs unpredictable, observational; they approach a myriad of subjects, from love-torn ballads to a wry criticism of everyday pop culture. They are filled with humour and wit, but are delivered with an unadulterated passion. The trio are not the kind of act to stick to the same formula, they are ambitious, adaptable and are always learning new instruments to bring more diversity to their sound, including loop pedals, the ukulele and the kazoo.

Scott Howland said, “On stage we like to mix it up and try different things. Live performance is about being exciting and entertaining.”

The band have bought their acoustic alchemy to venues across the Midlands and further afield, including LG Arena, Yardbird Jazz Cafe, Birmingham Ballroom, The Sunflower Lounge (Birmingham), The River Rooms (Stourbridge) and The Marrs Bar (Worcester). Notable support slots include Misha B at The River Rooms, and Westlife at the LG Arena (Foyer), on two separate occasions. Done By Sunrise have also performed a number of live-in-studio radio sessions, including Choice Radio in Worcester and an honourable mention on BBC Introducing... Hereford & Worcester artists to look out for in 2013.

Done By Sunrise will record their debut single at Forge Recording Studio in Warwickshire, under the guidance of producer Tom Gittins (Monochrome Productions). The single, which is set for release in 2013, will be available on iTunes and all major digital music retailers.
