The loss of a beloved pet is very traumatic. My friends Robert and Jane lost their bulldog Livy to lymphoma recently. This composition is dedicated to them, and of course, Livy. The photo in the art work is by Robert Holmes.

Song For Livy_(Pianobook Emotive Living Room Upright)

Written in January 2022 and recorded recently.  Lyrically it's about having to compete with your past.  Your failures and your accomplishments.  Loosely based on a true story.  I wrote the music on piano and my Duo Sonic electric.  For the recording I used my Fender Telecaster for the rhythm and E-bow parts.  Fender Mustang PJ Bass,  Hammond organ, Upright Piano (Swedish), synth via Presence. Percussion, Taylor Acoustic guitar,  All vocals By CT.  Recorded with Studio One 3 c2022 Chuck Townsend

I created this composition with the new Casio PX-S3100 stage piano. I also created it using 9 fingers....the right thumb joint is getting replaced (again), so that digit is out of commission. A lot of music can be made, no matter the limitation!

THOUGHT PROCESS

Louise showed up in a song of mine in 2001 ! It was part of a concept idea that featured a city similar to New Orleans.  Oddly enough in 2016 I was in Savannah Georgia with it's river walks, history and of course ghosts.  At one house there was a 'Louise' that I may have had an encounter with.  Flash forward and that inspired this song. Features piano, mellotron, acoustic and electric guitars, vocals and percussion.  Written, played and produced by CT c2022 & c2023 Chuck Townsend
