Born, DeVonna Maria Shaw, the oldest of four daughters, DeVonna’s extraordinary talent was noticed as early as two years old. 
As her passion for singing grew, a notebook of poetry progressed into soulful lyrics of ballads and pop songs. Though her quest for stardom had begun long ago, she continued to carry around a powerful voice. After her move from Selma, AL to Detroit, MI then Augusta, GA, DeVonna missed many opportunities. 
In 2007 DeVonna auditioned as DEVA, for "Augusta Idol" in hopes for a chance to go on to audition for the highly acclaimed American Idol. Placing second runner up, DEVA tried again in 2008 claiming the title of "The Augusta Idol." This opened many doors for DeVonna including local radio interviews and live performances. 
Currently performing as DeVonna Marie, her debut album entitled 'The Effects of Heartache', commands respect, shows attitude, confronts betrayal and even puts the other woman in her place. With songs like, Obsessed; Scandal-us; Now that you’re Gone and Starting Over, dedicated to all who have ever loved and lost it all.
