This Is Not A Drill

Never Knew What I was Looking For is the next in a series of slightly reimagined recordings of songs previously posted.   It's a pure pop song written the night after seeing a classic band perform a special concert some years back.  Can you guess what act inspired this song?  I've reworked some of the keyboards and drums, and remixed the whole thing.  Hope you like it. An earlier mix of this song, is the most listened to number of ours.  For whatever reason, the prior mix nd master sounded shrill and thin to me, so yesterday I laid down a whole new rhythm track and figured I'd share it with the world. Emily sings this one! Ways to Be Wicked is a song written by Tom Petty in the 1980s and first popularized by the band Lone Justice on their 1985 debut album.  Jackie Irving and I first rehearsed the song a lot of years ago and decided to take a shot at recording it a year or so ago.  I decided to remix the recording and improve both the bass and drum tracks.  The recording you hear is pretty faithful to the original.  As always, thanks for stopping by to have a listen. I haven't been particularly fond of any of the earlier arrangements, so I just rebuilt the recording from the drums up.  It's a straight up pop song that Emily sings somewhat breathlessly.
