This will be my final attempt with this song.  All That We Had has been around a while and I have struggled mightily with it.  Here I have rerecorded the percussion, added new keyboards and guitars, and re-mixed the vocals higher.  I really hope you all like this rendition as I think it's a really great melody. All That We Had (2025 final mix)

Never Knew What I was Looking For is the next in a series of slightly reimagined recordings of songs previously posted.   It's a pure pop song written the night after seeing a classic band perform a special concert some years back.  Can you guess what act inspired this song?  I've reworked some of the keyboards and drums, and remixed the whole thing.  Hope you like it. A nod of respect to Roxy Music. "Ladytron" appears on their first album. For 1972 it is mind blowing. A LadyTron in urban  is a person who breaks work clauses. Ladytron's can be identified by their homosexual traits such as blonde streaks in their hair and offensive thrusting. I've never met one. LOL

I Need You is a pure pop tune first written and recorded 3-4 years ago.  Emily sings her heart out on this number.  It always seemed a little quiet to me so I have just re-tracked the guitar and added a drum loop to give it some oomph.  Hope you like it. Through the Dark and Lonely Nights was first written and demoed a few years back.  I haven't been particularly fond of any of the earlier arrangements, so I just rebuilt the recording from the drums up.  It's a straight up pop song that Emily sings somewhat breathlessly. Insanity

I have always had an admiration of electronic synthesizer music. Particularly that of the the late 1970's and consequently the golden age of the 1980's, where groups like Depeche Mode, Japan, Gary Numan, OMD, Human League made their mark.

A bizarre influence was Mantovani to name a few. 

He was an Anglo-Italian conductor, composer and light orchestra-styled entertainer with a cascading strings musical signature

All these musicians were a great influence on myself and the music I now produce.

Along with the bass guitar, in which in my opinion works so well with this genre of music, I am happy with the sound produced in my compositions.
So here I am, producing my own brand of the quintessence sound.

Multistorey Hedgehogs were formed in Preston in the late 1980s. Early tracks were alternative rock in the vein of Joy Division, Dinosaur Jr, Neil Young. Some of these tracks were featured in the seminal film “The Bashers” on channel 4. 

Then in the early 90s more dance orientated tracks dominated. 

Since then they have concentrated on soundtracks and instrumental music.

A songwriting/recording project initiated to focus on the writing talents of Robert Sterling as well as several very talented collaborators/singers.  Older, wiser and definitely better, Sterling and colleagues continue to pump out irresistibly catchy pop/rock/alternative tunes.
