A video remix journey through the history of sampling taking in some of the most noted breaks and riffs of the decades. A chronological journey from the Beatles’ use of the Mellotron in the 60s  to the sample dense hiphop and dance music of the 80s and 90s. Each break is represented by a vibrating vinyl soundwave exploding into various tracks that sampled it, each re-use another chapter in the modern narrative.

"But it's December the 24th..and I am longing to be up NORTH!"....Then in comes the incredibly touching chorus..."I'm dreaming of a White Christmas...."  etc...   Marilyn and I recorded this with the incomparable Dick Hyman at the keyboard.... The photo, by the way, by Steve Sherman - shows us both in a jolly embrace, with Marilyn sporting TWO pairs of glasses-- Hers, AND Mine! I just discovered this recording taken off the air of a live performance I did with orchestra of Handel's beautiful and celebrated aria, "O Sleep, Why Dost Thou Leave Me?" from SEMELE.  I sang it in 1983 on the BBC.   The aria is famous for the 22 second long phrase --(IN ONE BREATH !) -- on the word, "W A N D E R I N G"...............................................

This is track 2 of 5 in the record I put together for my mom, who recently passed away from lung cancer - "In Memories of Toom". This is a song that mommy used to ask me to search for every version of it, put it on her phone, on her computer. She would tell me how beautiful I would sound singing this song, and asked me to sing for her. I would tell her I won't sound as calming as Mr. Cole and laughed, but I still sang for her anyway and she would always smile back at me. It is a reminiscence of a beautiful life and beautiful moments that we all had together. This song is for her... If I had to choose just one day to last my whole life through, it would surely be, that Sunday...
