A layered soundtrack piece that reflects the end of autumn here in Upstate New York.
Something akin to the last leaf falling off the tree.

Goodnight, November

Everything here is played live by one person except the percussion loop. This song is the result of using a Looper audio routing setup I designed and programmed in Logic Pro 9. My voice was recorded one note at a time in two loops (that process was edited out). The percussion comes from Stylus RMX; the steel tongue drum is a mic'd "Zen Tambour" tuned to the D-Akebono scale; the strings are from Omnisphere. FX are Logic's own Tape Delay plugin; the Reverb is from the Vahalla Room plugin; the looping design is built around Logic's Delay Designer plugin; psychedelic FX is also from a Delay Designer setting. Hopefully I can pull off a more refined version of this tune at my EM2011performance this Sept 9-11.

The Vast Sea Beneath Me (edited draft v0.3)

This siren v1 recording is getting a little long in the tooth (recorded Winter 2008-9). Posting the 1st version here solely to remind myself to finish this and many other songs from the last handful of years, and get 'em mastered & onto a CD (or mini-box set) ASAP... so I can work on new material.
The v2 version is here on souncloud, too, but this one started the latest "wave" and style of my current stuff. I sense a style change coming on, so c'mon, Robert... get 'er done!

Played live with Finn Dorschel at the 2011 MMUUS Talent Show, Feb 13, 2011.
Me on 88-key piano &amp; Omnisphere synth stack for "This Side" and the Zen Tambour on "Other Side"; Finn on bass mono synth ("This Side"); and Albino pad +swamp sound fx, +our "see-saw" dance, and monitoring the mic levels ("Other Side"). Great first time for him playing synth, and first time playing with me. :)

"Other Side" features an instrument called the "Zen Tambour," a steel tongue drum instrument tuned to the D-AKebono (Japanese) scale:
