Sitting alongside fellow subdivisions 3rd Avenue and Crossfade Sounds, Future Avenue looks to provide a home for new and rising talent. With an ethos centred around progressive music and its surrounding derivatives, the label is a platform which gives up and coming artists a chance to showcase their music alongside established veterans as they carve out their own musical identity.

The incongruent sound of off-kilter percussive clicking ripples through melodic brilliance – Dan Sieg returns to a well-travelled Mango Alley, "Something's Not Clicking Right" creates a new aural pathway. Glorious sonic variation burns incandescent, the colour of fire bleeding through in abstract patterns against the clean angular white lines of metronomic beat, white-noise shaker and steam-powered effects. A returning iconic figure generates a frisson of drama; an expectant audience filled with eager anticipation. Quivver makes his mark once again, firing with accustomed precision. Clarity of purpose and unrivalled techno credentials create an aural landscape of monochromatic beauty. Brilliant patterns coalesce from a trinity of distortion, reverb and delay as they pan across the stereo spectrum in dizzying glory. The infinite shades between black and white swirl in patterns and a bedrock of four/four beat is juxtaposed against freeform melodic interpretation that reaches its zenith before exploding in wall of mesmerising sound.

Australian flair combines with sonic beauty as Luka Sambe creates a new pulsating soundscape. Taking centre stage, a stellar cast of pulsating rhythmic components and flowing melodic creativity converge in a new narrative. Percussive vectors align themselves in clean, sharp lines creating a chessboard pattern from where an infinite array of patterns emerge from rippling keys and searing regal synths. Arpeggios dance lightly, comprised of complex, ever-evolving tessellations that refer to themes resonant where something is clearly right.

Blu9 is a Chicago born and raised dj and producer, rising up the ranks of the underground house and techno scene. Art and music has always been a priority and focus, learning violin at 7, followed by composition and interest in piano and percussion. This is echoed in her hauntingly beautiful productions which often fuse electric violin with percussion instruments and string elements, and can be found on many prominent labels. A regular on the decks at well known Chicago venues, she’s played support for the likes of Nicole Moudaber, Stacey Pullen, Chris Liebing, and Richie Hawtin.

The longer nights are drawing in and autumn hangs deep in the air as we migrate from wild festival arenas to more intimate club settings. A place where a deeper, more introspective soundtrack has more of an allure and hits the feels with much more impact than it does al fresco. A soundtrack like ‘Made For V’, the latest EP on Diversions from the label co-bossman Nicolas Masseyeff.
The lead track is as personal as it gets as Nico lays down sonic gold for his son Victor. Igniting the smouldering fire with twinkling a arpeggio that tiptoes closer and closer to the centre of the mix, before we know it Masseyeff has enshrouded us with a purring bassline that melts into the groove, oozing sentiment and emotion with every twist and turn.
It’s backed by ‘IBR’. The title isn’t quite so personal but the feelings remain high as a similar velveteen bassline prowls into the mix. At first a whisper, and then a shout, this time it’s wrapped around a stately 4/4 kick, tight percussion rolls and more twinkling layers.
Pensive, provocative and perfect for the longer nights ahead. Let the migration back to the clubs commence for another season. Wrap up warm now...
