This album is best described as a collection of Hip-hop Psalms. King David was the original B-Boy who freestyled, wrote poems, created new instruments, danced, and even got down with visual arts. The Psalms in the Scriptures are full of praise, grief, agony, celebration, and adoration. One of the reasons why they have stood the test of time is that they are real and capture the human condition struggling to live a spiritual life. King David used his creativity as art-illery to change his reality, and in that example I have created First Fruits. I hope you enjoy these songs of struggle, agony, and liberation!
