Ai Takekawa is back with us again on “Say Goodbye”, and gives us a gorgeous blend of Japanese and English vocal fusion, that results in an absolutely stunning vocal melody and heart strung lyrics.

Othala

One of the more hard hitting tracks on Nihilum’s album is “Othala”. A tried and true progressive tune, one that really gets the blood pumping and keeps the beat. Perfect for the dance floor.

Clouds

“Clouds” draws sounds from myriad influences worldwide. Utilizing what may sound like the sound of instruments from the far east passing through an electronic filter, combined with the tranquil vocal track present here, is what makes this one really special.

Coming Home

As far as the entirety of this album is concerned, “Coming Home” is well placed, and aptly named. The path of this album comes to a close and this track could not be any more perfect to describe the near descent of the journey that is the album. Truly wonderful.

Alive

Nihilum’s “Alive” closes the loop of this aural journey with a much more uplifting tone after the descent on “Coming Home”. “Alive” shows us that there will always be a new beginning, with every beginning an end of course, as we feel euphoria from the synths striking air on high, and the beat on low driving us to our goals.

It is time for another dose of a stupendous & quality filled release here on Perplexity Music, this time coming from US based talent, Kono (USA). It's a pleasure to have him back here with another 3 track EP titled 'Moku/Petrichor' which would be a journey into the unknown but all will be explained the moment you hit play.  

The first track, 'Moku' is a delightful number to begin with as it highlights what the EP is about & the story behind its title.  You are treated to a host of sun ladened melodies that start off from the moment you press play, illuminating your mind & preparing you for a dazzling production that streams out good feelings & pleasant musings. Moku, a little place of heaven off the Hawaiian coast, a place where the water is as blue as the nightly sky & the sun as blazing as can be, that is where you are transported to from your daily lives; to this exotic & riveting destination. The energetic & subdued synths work well with the overall floating elements of the crisp vocal chops, bringing in flavour & colour to this already extraordinary work of art. A delicate piano line is used for a tender touch to lighten up this exquisite piece bringing it all to soothing & peaceful end; coaxing the lustrous Hawaiian breeze right to you.

There has been a dry spell of weather, but all of a sudden, the rain pours down & engulfs everything in sight, for however long that is. Suddenly, it's bright again & slowly the rain water is drying off, leaving this pungent & dense smell in the air, almost refreshing, as if the pores of rain that are drying are evaporating all around & you can smell it; that, that is 'Petrichor'. As refreshing as the word itself , you can feel that new & untouched feeling of everything being cleansed by the way the gorgeous melody kicks in right away alongside the subtle but strong percussion. The bell like chimes add in that authenticity, with the powerful chord work protruding through to heartfelt sounds. Almost like a rising tide, the breakdown serenades you into oblivion by the light piano lines that purge everything that is dark, leading you into the light before the full extent of the fluttering melody really launches in with the well placed vocal chops; that's when you know you've felt it & tasted it, the freedom after the rain.  

Canadian talent Martin Peter brings in his impressive musical artillery for a divine remix of 'Moku', luring you in with the slow & deep chords that spark wonder yet positivity. This beautiful remix really focuses on the sweet melodies from the original, using a great range of chord accentions & vocal  chops to enhance the smooth & delicate textures of it. It is vibrant & welcoming, really being one to warm up those blistering & fast approaching winter nights with the right blend of rhythm & melody that works strategically, again taking you away to the warm Moku air that surrounds you.

Another EP that has blown us away & we hope that you felt the same range of emotions that these prodigious artists have managed to extract from the deepest parts of us. Every year on his "Only Silk" compilation, Shingo Nakamura contributes at least one original progressive track, which inevitably proves to be one of the release highlights. In 2015, it took the form of "Tribute, Chapter II", a follow-up collaboration with the exceedingly gifted Russian musician Stendahl. The Original Mix features a mellifluous soundscape, including a lush chord progression, gorgeous string effects, and, later, a timeless piano score. Our favorite moment is the breakdown, where the two artistic styles unite; specifically, Shingo's piano is joined by Stendahl's innovative and chilled breaks.

Terry Da Libra, who Shingo Nakamura himself recently described as one of his favorite musicians, graces us with the first of two inspired remixes. Global DJs and fans alike have marveled at Terry's marked growth in 2015, with hits like "Onirikon" helping to define his breakthrough year. His take once again showcases numerous midrange layers, soaring above a buoyant, flawlessly mixed rhythm section. Ethereal pads, subtle vocal effects, and an exhilarating new lead chord progression highlight Terry's exceptional interpretation.

Blugazer, an accomplished veteran who also experienced a watershed year, closes out the release with an uptempo, trance-influenced rendering. An awe-inspiring soundscape, featuring myriad melodic and atmospheric textures, is joined by a stormy bassline in the early going. Echoes of the song's original themes can be heard in the breathtaking breakdown, while more subtle, yet undeniably gorgeous melodic variations are contributed by the NYC-based phenom.

Jednym z własnych, przewrotnych haseł było : "Czarne okulary są symbolem wiary w kredens". To oczywiście nawiązanie do rodzimego wodza PRL, Jaruzelskiego, którego młodzież wówczas wyśmiewała.

Ogólnie jednak jest tam krytyka całej zastanej rzeczywistości, wynikająca z młodzieńczej, zbuntownej postawy młodocianych członków F.P.Z. (nalezy zaznaczyć, że średnia wieku wynosiła 17 lat, czyli biorąc pod uwagę ówczesne realia schyłku socjalizmu, były to strasznie naiwne czasy). A był to bunt skrajny.

F.P.Z. - zły kabaret ? Tak zły, że grupę możnaby nazwać alternatywą alternatywy - F.P.Z. postanowiło bowiem zadrwić rownież z ówczesnej tzw. 'sceny alternatywnej', która była oczywiście bardzo inspirująca i interesująca, lecz w wielu przypadkach stawała sie kalką samej siebie (grupy powielały podobne schematy, przez co zjawisko stawało się nudne i mało oryginalne). Po pierwszym swoim dużym występie, na festiwalu Poza Kontrolą w warszawskim Remoncie, w 1987 roku (na tej samej scenie, na której chwilę później wszystkich poraziła mocą grupa SWANS), publiczność festiwalu była skonfudowana, zniesmaczona i zaskoczona, co zapewne wynikło z tego, że wszelkie zjawiska odbierano bardzo serio, bez dystansu. Zapewne dlatego, że po wielu dość poważnych czy wręcz smutnych występach licznych grup, F.P.Z. nagle proponują ze swoich podkładów kawałki Modern Talking, Europe czy 'Misia Uszatka'. 

F.P.Z. wykraczało już wtedy poza ramy czysto muzyczne. Np. na scenie pojawił się Papież z migającymi diodami w oczach (czerwoną i zieloną, na zmianę, wlasnej konstrukcji Marcela); Wokół projektu pojawiają się urządzenia-konstrukcje kultowe, których śmiały, obsurny design kwalifikował je jako samoistne dzieła sztuki: np. zbudowany z kilku magnetofonów kasetowych DELAY taśmowy (na taśmę od kasety!), czy przerobiony na potrzeby 'studyjne' magnetofon po dziadku z RFN-u; Do tego można dodać kilka fotograficznych collages, z których najbardziej znana jest po prostu butelka po denaturacie, czy zdjęcie zbiorowe grupy, pt."F.P.Z. jedzą ciastko". Z tymi kolażami wiąże się też historia, w wyniku której dwa z nich zostały wydrukowane w słynnym magazynie muzycznym "NON-STOP", co bylo wielkim zaszczytem. Otóż, z racji kompletnej ignorancji grupy F.P.Z. przez oficjalne media, Marcelo poztanowil osobiście podrzucić fotki do redakcji gazety. Dotarł nawet do gabinetu Wojciecha Manna (naczelnego gazety), lecz go nie zastał - wobec czego materiały po prostu zostawił na biurku. No i akurat trafiły niebawem do druku. Polecam więc jednocześnie tę metodę i dziś.

Historia

Historia Fjoletowych Płynów Zdrowotnych "Jurop" rozpoczęła się w 1986 roku. Marcelo (wówczas pod pseudonimem Wyga), mając lat 16, jesienią tego roku przebywał w Hamburgu, w związku z pogrzebem swojego dziadka. Tam wlaśnie doznał objawienia, które zdecydowało o jego twórczej przyszłości. Na srebrnym, dziwnym stereofonicznym magnetofonie, odziedziczonym po dziadku, zaczął wkrotce dokonywać pierwszych preparacji dźwiękowych.

W ten właśnie sposób, wiosną 1987 roku, w rodzimym Ciechocinku, powstają pierwsze eksperymentalne nagrania, będące w opozycji do czegokolwiek, co proponowala wowczas alternatywna scena młodzieżowa. Można uznać, że katalizatorem-inspiracją pierwszych pomysłów były grupy Modern Talking oraz nie schodzący z list przebojów, szwedzki zespoł Europe.

W międzyczasie sporym bodźcem twórczym był koncert-performance Międynarodowej Famijii Radjo Warszawa w toruńskiej Od Nowie (musiało to być zapewne lato 1986), na którym znalazl się Marcelo z kolegami. Bez wątpienia pozostawiło to swoje piętno na rozwoju F.P.Z.

Wkrótce po dokonaniu pierwszych eksperymentalnych zapisów, materiały na kasetach zostały wysłane na wszystkie ówczesne festiwale muzyczne w Polsce - a trzeba przyznać, że było ich niewiele i wymienić można je hurtem: Jarocin, Róbrege, Marchewka (choć tylko 2 edycje), Regge nad Wartą, Poza Kontrolą, trójmiejska Nowa Scena i zdaje się, Fama (pomijamy festiwale jazzowe czy bluesowe). Dość oczywiste, że F.P.Z. do Jarocina się nie nadawały, choć, prawdę mówiąc, w jarocińskiej Rozgłośni Harcerskiej nagrania F.P.Z. zaczął puszczać sam Tomek Lipiński, co też było miłą niespodzianką. 

Szczęśliwym jednak trafem, F.P.Z. dostały się na ósmą edycję Poza Kontrolą - jedyny festiwal, promujący naprawdę dużą dawkę prawdziwej awangardy, odbywający się jesienią 1987 roku. Pojawiło się więc pierwsze prawdziwe wyzwanie: koncert na dużej scenie w warszawskim klubie Remont (dokladnie 29 sierpnia). Był to oczywiście dla młodych chłopaków z Ciechocinka skok na głęboką wodę.
Występ odbył się w składzie: Marcelo (Wyga), Rafał (Basil), Andrzej Kaczmarek oraz Piotr Cłapiński. 

Na Poza Kontrolą przez pełnych wdzięku chłopaków z F.P.Z. zostały nawiązane cenne kontakty, co zaowocowało zaproszeniem do kilku następnych wydarzeń. Wśród zaprzyjaźnionych osób wymienić można Sernika - Paweła Kwiecietnia (lidera projektu "Sernik zamordowany wkrotce nielegalny"), Bolka Błaszczyka (założyciela m.in. formacji 997, a obecnie jednego z artystów znanej Grupy Mozarta), Dominika Kowalczyka (obecnie znanego z projektu Wolfram). 

Efektem tych kontaktów było zaproszenie na kameralny koncert w Remoncie (czerwiec 1988), wspólnie z grupą Bolka Błaszczyka - 997. Jest to najlepiej jakościowo zarejestrowany występ, pojawiła się nawet jakaś kamera video. Ciekawostką jest fakt, że na drugi dzień obchodzone były 18-te urodziny Marcela, a polegało to na piciu sporej ilości wódki na ławce, naprzeciw Remontu, w miejscu, gdzie budowano pierwszą linię metra. Zespół ledwo doczołał się do pociągu...

 W swym krotkim okresie istnienia, F.P.Z mialo zaledwie 5 występów (w tym ostatni, na kolejnej edycji Poza Kontrolą), ale były to niezapomniane przeżycia, w dodatku skierowane dla wąskiej grupy odbiorców (odbiorcami byli najczęściej starsi koledzy, artyści różnych grup muzycznych (Madame, Tilt, Maanam, Dezerter, itp.). Niezwykle sympatycznym epizodem było wypożyczenie basiście F.P.Z., (Andrzejowi) porządnego basu, przez legendę rock'n'rolla - pana Jaco, gdy ten zlitował się nad młodymi artystami, widząc nieszczęsny sprzęt, jakim dysponowała grupa (niestety, z tego jednego koncertu-performensu nie zachował się żaden zapis).

Występy miały swoje konkretne 'scenariusze' i wyraźne zróżnicowanie dramaturgiczne. Znaczna część dźwiękowa leciała z podkladu (kasety) i były to przeważnie, jak już wspomniano, fragmenty radzieckich słuchowisk dla dzieci czy programów TV, tudzież spreparowane dźwięki, trudne do uzyskania na koncercie. 

Wyposażenie sprzętowe było zaś faktycznie ubogie: gitara, bas, małe klawisze Casio, kamera pogłosowa wyprodukowana w Oświęcimiu (ciekawostka: jedna z pierwszych cyfrowych, rodzimych konstrucji, z którą też wiąże się dłuższa historia), własnej roboty generator przebiegów prostokątnych, magnetofony, tamburyny, metalowe puszki, grzechotki... Jakość sprzętu posostawiała wiele do życzenia. Trudno było zarazem zdobyć w tamtych czasach coś lepszego, i to nie tylko ze względow finansowych, ale z powodu braku dostępności sprzętu w sklepach. Nawet porządny kabel 'jack-jack' był nielada gratką.
  
Skład F.P.Z był zazwyczaj 3 lub 4-osobowy, zaś wszystkie osoby, które wspóltworzyły zespół, to: Marcelo (Wyga), Rafał (Basil), Łukasz (Koń) Bojarowski, Piotr Cłapiński oraz Andrzej Kaczmarek (chociaż większość nagrań studyjno-domowych jest głównie z udziałem dwóch pierwszych).

Po drugim występie na Poza Kontrolą (w 1988 roku) i kolejnych inspiracjach (jak choćby wspomnianym SWANS-em na wspólnej scenie, a także dzięki Henrykowi Palczewskiemu, który zaopatrywał znajomych w świeże zapasy prawdziwej awangardy z zachodu), koncepcja Fjoletowych Płynów i ich 'kabaretowego' surrealizmu w naturalny sposób wywietrzała, przeradzając się w dużo poważniejszą formację - MORRIS GENERATIV. Zanim to jednak nastąpiło, między 1988 a 89 rokiem ciągle dokonywane były interesujące, eksperymentalne nagrania, które trudno wlaściwie określić, czy są jeszcze tamtym, czy już tym nowym...
