Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Bird Cage Blue And Yellow ꩜

I wrote this song as an ode to sleep. A request for sleep. A need for sleep. In the darkness of the early days of young babies, sleep was the only thing I could think about. It was everything. And still it remains the answer to most of life's problems.

I recorded all the parts at home. Rosanna Schura joins me with some haunting vocals. I particularly like the freeform section at the end, where the song drifts aimlessly around like a middle aged musician in a sleepy village.

London-based alt-rock outfit Guest In The Car return, with their latest single, ‘You Are What You Own’, set for release on March 7th, 2025. Marking an evolution in their sound, the track channels the spirit of early 2000s indie rock, centring on acoustic guitar and communicative vocals.

Exploring themes of self-worth, validation, and the sacrifices made to be loved, Guest In The Car delivers a haunting yet anthemic piece that lingers long after the final note. The song’s ghostly and communicative vocal delivery amplifies its lyrical core—confronting the willingness to change or even lose oneself just to be noticed. It’s a bold statement from an artist who continues to carve out their own space in the alternative scene.

'Here's Your Life, Enjoy' is Jewelia’s first single after the release of her album Little Wins last year (which received accolades from Clash Magazine, The Daily Star, FAULT, Notion, Wonderland and many others). 

The new song marks a shift from pop to an alt-rock sound with 00s pop-punk influences. Jewelia is reminiscing about the past while channeling her inner rebel to break through childhood conditioning and live life on her own terms.

This is the first of several tracks recorded with her band, and part of a future EP called 'If not now, then when?'. 

In April 2025, Jewelia is set to embark on her first UK tour with her band (London, Manchester, Birmingham, Southampton and Brighton).
