Heyoka: 

In Native American culture, the Heyoka is, in simple terms, the clown of the tribe. But he is much more than what most people imagine a clown to be. 

Everything he does in his play is aimed at making people laugh, so that they feel themselves and let go of entrenched attitudes and concepts. He turns the rituals upside down or exaggerates them excessively. He does everything to expose the complacency and prejudices of his fellow human beings in order to heal and encourage with laughter.

He can step into the world of others, into their stubbornness and madness. He mimes them lovingly and makes even the suffering person laugh about his own suffering. He brings laughter and the love of life and strengthens the natural being and the connection in the tribe to the divine. He helps to banish aberrant and unconnected attitudes and is seen as a transformer, ally and mediator between the worlds.

Some years ago someone told me, that the way I behave reminds him of this figure and on the one hand I can deeply identify myself with the characteristics of the Heyoka and on the other hand I’m trying my best to act more in this way.

Naicet sounds like „nice set“ and has caused some confusion and funny situations by the dance floor. But it is her actual name. Being half Mexican and half German the name comes from the language of the Maya, meaning „dreaming next to …“. In contrast to that, her sound isn’t quite dreamy but can rather be described as drifty, dark but melodic. Originating from Hip Hop and RnB, Naicet discovered a fast growing passion for electronic music in her early twenties in Berlin and found her way behind the decks in 2020 beneath the Mystic Creatures event series which has been her home ever since. She now is part of the core team of the Mystic Creatures festival in Poland. Her energetic sets have reached several clubs and festivals in Germany and around the world.

Elias Goldmund is one of the founders of Mystic Creatures & Mystic Tales Berlin. His name was inspired by the corresponding character in Hesses novel "Narziss und Goldmund". Learning to play violoncello from age eight on formed the seed to a fundamental understanding of music. Deep love with music is cheerfully growing ever since. Music is a way to communicate beyond words and can be the guide to deeper understanding of existence.
