Imagining your next-level of heroism and then having the guts to get that dream done is, to me, why we are here.

While the majority does long for pure success, real greatness and their place at the table of genius, they refuse to install the beliefs, run the routines, do the work and live the days that would make so much of their readily observable reality.

This world of ours is full of great thinkers who never realized their greatness. They were strong on the thinking piece but weak on the execution side. And they suffered as a result of that constraint. World-class people get both right. They are superb strategically and brilliant tactically. Really creative and really good at getting things done.

So jump start your commitment around execution. Yes, capture your ideas and bask in the glow of a brilliant thought. And then reach deep into your inner power and have the discipline to do whatever it takes to make the idea a reality.

Be Not a Postponer

The average performer is pure consumer. It’s all about buying and having things. Their self-identity is based on the brands, labels and badges of the moment. Iconic producers care very little about stuff. What stokes their fire has less to do with being a consumer and a lot more to do with being a maker. For them, their compelling cause is all about using their creativity, energy, talents and time to produce value that not only delivers their personal dreams but makes the world a greater place.

Be a Creator, Not a Consumer

Getting good at communicating is like getting good at tennis: the more you practice, the better you’ll get.

There’s zero doubt in my mind that you were made to become a masterful communicator. And by making this trait your default, you’ll get to genius in the way you connect quicker than you might imagine.

I know this sentiment is unorthodox in a culture that encourages us to blame all outside of us for the way we think, feel and operate.
