Hamburg’s fine impro-trio @treibgut blesses us with a wonderful EP this summer. After a brief hiatus the three boys have refined their trademark sound even more - sitting confidently somewhere between techno, house and melodic electronica. While Treibgut’s shows normally are almost ethereal snapshots due to their improvisational nature, we were able to convince them to hold down two of their finest results on tape. The outcome is a two-track EP - complemented by spot-on reinterpretations from two early supporters of our label: @Iorie and the duo @peng_peng. One remix convinces with a straight-forward club approach while the B-Side is a bit more mellow and relaxed. The whole package comes wrapped up as tasty vinyl with a beautiful artwork. Also: Did we mention the title track was composed on the peak of a liveshow at Sisyphos’ legendary Hammahalle…?

Mollono.Bass turns the maze of your brain into the rampant thicket of a jungle. The dark green of the humid tropical air is filled with the sound of chirping insects, psychedelic vines tickle your consciousness from all sides. Driven by a groove as thick and bouncy as the ground in this primeval forest you approach the ritualist play of drums and tribal singing… and, as it goes In The Jungle, all of a sudden you’re completely lost and can’t even tell above from below. In a collaborative work with Dole & Kom we hear the dreamlike melodies of Mollono.Bass echoing through a canyon that extends between massive walls of bass frequency: Reflections is a minimalist track that draws it’s subtle yet compelling power from the whirring buzz of its individual parts.

Green Lake Project: Good question. We took some shortcuts through wormholes. Also there was that one situation where we took a real wrong turn and ended up scraping the borders of a black hole. That’s why there have been some pretty wild bends and wobbles in the space-time continuum of our journey! (...)
