Pure delight and must hear again to appreciate the "inane" banter between both of you.  It is a fun battle of sexes or even sibling rivalry, but what a smile brings along with Helen's playing.

I think you two had a good time! And you brought back a memory for me of playing guitar in a pit band for a local production. I didn't really do well, but I had fun, too!

Here's another unpretentious, rough n ready, yet wistful and gentle  Improvisation for you.

ilio and i improvised this piece right around the time ilio's dear friend and octogenarian artist David Reid passed away.

David was a multi-talented artist, jeweler, gardener, father, husband, and much more throughout his life. He lived on Saturna Island over last 20 years of creativity.

When we listened back on the music we'd improvised and recorded on our  Stereo Zoom Mic, ilio sensed that we should call it 'A Song for David'.
I heartily agreed, and so we have.

May it capture even a little of the wide and creative swath he cut through life while incarnate here on our amazing planet.


I am on my Kawai Electric Piano, and  ilio is playing his acoustic Classical Guitar

last wednesday I got lucky and I could hear and record a woodpecker on a tree direct in front of me. I mix this recording in a track, I actually work on, hope the hammering is loud enough

Just a little impromptu-ish take on "Anything You Can Do" from Irving Berlin's 1946 musical "Annie Get Your Gun".
I was joined by mezzo-soprano Bethan Morris, and the piano track was provided by Helen Roberts.

We were making a cake, and found that we are altogether much more fond of fondant than of guns...and honestly who would sign up for a mass shooting if they could join a cake tasting instead..
