"I had a musically transformational experience in front of the robot heart bus years ago.  At that moment, I made a promise to myself that the next time I stepped foot on the bus, it would be to play.  Fast forward 5 years later…it’s 2am Monday night, about 30 min before my set, and I’m sitting in the deep playa with a close friend watching the bus make it’s way towards us from the city.  It was a moment that I will never forget.  This was what all the hard work was for.

To me, this mix represents a small microcosm of one of the things I learn over and over again every time I go to Burning Man; with patience, persistence, resilience, and positive intention, you can achieve anything.

The pair are collaborating around their very own label Manjumasi and if the debut release (featuring Slee himself, Patlac and Tim Green) is anything to go by, the imprint will fast be a major influence not only on the the west coast of the USA but also much further afield. Carrying a clear vision, an ensemble of impressive experiences and a whole tonne of exuberance, the boys are ready to set the future in motion. After 8 years this is our last year bringing the Disco Knights camp back to Burning Man. I made this mix with the long drive to Burning Man in mind. Every year the drive up is a very interesting part of the journey for me… I think of it as the emotive start to the burn experience. This year in particular as it’s the last year we’re bringing our disco space ship to the playa. So the anticipation of all the memories of the last 8 years that I know are going to be flying through my mind made me want to play a set that I can rock during the drive through Tahoe hills. Not necessarily a mix of my favorite tracks played at the camp or even a representation of it, but more the feelings I’d like to remember looking back at the last 8 years.

Happy New Year everyone! 

2019 is necessarily going to result in some new beginnings in my life and hopefully some positive changes and evolutions for us all.

In line with my own growth, I wanted to get back to my roots of digging really deep to put together a mix that I think is dreamy, ethereal, with haunting vocals and subtle but groovy basslines.

Also, after 3 weeks of watching updates from our dear friends traveling from Vietnam to Mexico I couldn’t keep it together without sharing something with everyone!
