Shaun Reeves has been one of our favorite DJs and Producers for as long as we've been into underground dance music. 1/3 of the legendary Detroit trio & record label, Visionquest, Shaun came into our 2 Year Anniversary Festival and played one of the most wicked 4am sets we've ever heard. From ultra creepy vocals to sounds reminiscent of whales fornicating, this was one of the most incredibly twisted sets Desert Hearts has ever witnessed.

When people ask me what is Burning Man, the most truthful thing I can say is that it's a magical place that has held a special place in my heart for a long time.  It may not be for everyone but I tell you one thing, it has rejuvenated my life and made me a better person as well as many others.  I feel the love from every human that has been in this place I have come to call 'home'.  It's made me more creative with my music, more caring and to sum it up, Burning Man is capable of changing the whole world's attitude and making it a better place to live. When I look around me in the playa, all I see are people from all over the world, sharing, caring and loving one another. Why can't we apply this to the world?
 
At the same time, it gives me great pleasure to share my music each year with the Robot Heart family.  These sets are very special and truly come from a place in my heart that it's hard to describe in words.  It's a gift to each and every one of you.  It's an honor to play on the Robot Heart bus each year and I hope you enjoy and feel what I am going through in this set.

"My favorite set that we played this year at Burning Man was at Robot Heart. It was probably the only set that I really prepared for with Walshy Fire.

I'll be honest I was a lil nervous because I really wanted to make it run with energy for the full two hours and our typical audience isn't that used to a classic dub and reggae set. Myself and the whole RH crew wanted to create something really special for a sunset party and keep it true to the theme but to still feel like a Robot Heart set. The Robot Heart crew had told me that they wanted and entire set that sounded like "Major Lazer - Get Free" and I had to think hard about it. To keep the vibe going for two hours and for that record to be the climax was a challenge but I realized if you stick to your guns for the whole party and steer the audience in a direction and keep them with you, then anything is possible.  I hope you love it.. It's perfect for a party on a Sunday afternoon and represents a different side of Major Lazer"

We played the close set at Pink Mammoth on the night of the burn - 6 til 8 just at the sun was setting. Was so much fun with such a fun atmosphere and vibe. Dusty Rhino 33 - DJ Dan came out and rocked the Rhino for our joint Dusty Rhino/Opulent Temple party we hosted Tuesday evening of the Burn this year.  It was an eerie night out in the middle of the playa as the dust storm rolled in.  Dan appeared from nowhere and stepped up and rocked this great, rocking and somewhat old school set.  Great preview to our Afterburn party at Public Works we are hosting in October 17....DJ Dan will be coming to rock it again for us...

Lately i have been buying a lot of vinyl, going through my thousands of old vinyl digging out good old stuff and just nerding it big time.
I love that the vinyl market kinda has its own sound that doesn't trend with what's happening at the charts on Beatport, iTunes, Spotify and whatever.
I love that you can actually get a lot of stuff on vinyl that is not available in the digital market and therefore get a chance to play music you know that not many djs actually play or even know exists.
I had a Friday night off. No gigs and no family or friend affairs to attend to. Its been a long time since i had a Friday night home and it didn't take long before the itch to play music was too big and i had to do something about it......
So..... I decided to record this vinyl set of some of the vinyls i bought in 2015 so far. This set probably represents a deeper shade of Noir than you are use to from the clubs where i most of the time play prime-time sets. But.......
I honestly love this sound and this set represents the kind of vinyl i always end up buying for my own personal pleasure and collection rather than thinking it has to be new floor fillers for the clubs around the globe.
This is just good music..... so here you go...... That's how i spent my Friday night. Mixing just for myself on 2x Technics 1210's just like it all started many years ago...... Never forget where you come from... huh ?
I apologies for the short jingles. They are put in there. Its done to respect the labels and artists who puts a lot of work into manufacturing the vinyls in the dig-age.... to avoid ripping etc.

This year I decided to go to Burning Man for only four days as I wanted to see other places before getting there, places which were like the opposite of the dusty Playa.

Those were four really intense days!

All I know is the first time I opened the door of my RV to ride my bike to go say "hello" to the man, I saw a shooting star in the sky...

I knew it was going to be a good year, and so it was!

I want to thank everyone that made this year the best. Each single soul I met who I laughed, talked and exchanged eye contact with!
