Before you an extraordinary set created by the Persian duo Madota. Two very warm, funny and incredible beings we truly see as brothers. We met years ago at one of Mira's birthday parties. It was as random as it was funny to meet the tall characters somewhere in the maze of endless entertainment. 

There was always a desire to work with the two. Their sets and performances have this alluring energy. But some things take time and so did our collaboration.

Babylon Family Series #006 - Madota

Coming to Burning Man for the second time in 2017, I was primarily a saxophone player, not a DJ, not a proceder... 
I used to go art car hopping, bringing my sax along and jamming with whoever was willing. I had especially fun times jamming with DJs. 
On the last morning of that Burn, Monday morning it was, I bumped into two talented DJs playing incredible tracks on one of the best sounding art cars I've ever heard... 
Naturally, I took out the sax, and started jamming on the sandy dance floor in front of them. Soon enough some people gathered around, and I was pulled up to that old looking artistic mutant vehicle and, with the DJs consent I jammed on top as well... 
The morning went on and it started getting hot, it looked like the end was near, and I was somehow back on the playa "dance floor" when a couple people called me up saying "The DJ is looking for you..." I quickly came up and asked "whats up?" He said: I'm gonna play the last track now, and then you play the outro. Excited to share the last moment of that morning, I obviously jumped in, and was honored to play the last notes of that magical morning... 
After that I got to chat with the DJs for a bit, they said their names were Martin & Nico (aka Acid Pauli & Nico Stojan and this was my first introduction to the magical bus called Robot Heart. 
Fast forward 4 years later, we have gone full circle and I finally got the honor to tell my own story on, what is in my opinion, the best stage in the world to play music...
I hope you will enjoy this ride, at least as much as I did...

I was able to recover this lost recorded set that I played at the magical mezcal amores experience in the middle of the agave fields in Mitla, Oaxaca. This mix lost the first 45 minutes of my entire session, but you can listen to most of it. I was the first artist to play, opening a really hot night of track selection. first weekend of March 2022

This marked my 10th year out on the blank canvas of creativity, known as the Playa.  It was unforgiving and magnificent and challenging and beautiful all at once. I tell myself every year, this may be my last, that the experience has pushed me to my limits of comfort, and patience.  But literally the second I get back to the default World,  I miss it dearly, and cannot wait to return. The last Come Down mix I made for Burning Man was 5 years ago, and with the explosion of energy and mega high vibes this year, I felt the calling to create another chill-out journey into sound. Think of this mix as your long Exodus back into reality.  Listen closely to the inspiring words of Larry Harvey sprinkled through out the set. This legendary man and his brilliant vision, which he so profoundly describes in his own poetically genius way, is the reason we all make the annual pilgrimage to this desolate barren land of LOVE. Black Rock Come Down 2 - SABO - Burning Man 2022

Thanks to a beautiful twist in time, we welcomed Unders to close The Seekers of Light ADE '22 showcase on the Saturday Day Event. This closing slot was initially meant for Viken Arman, but as it happen our Viken missed his plane. The upside of hosting events during ADE is that you likely find a replacement that you love and adore.

IN COMES UNDERS! He was on his way out after successfully hosting his own showcase on Thursday, but lucky us we managed to snatch him before he left.

A magnificent set followed! The element of surprise in this last minute performance carried out throughout his performance and he managed to take us on the perfect journey.

Perhaps his best performance in our Babylon up to this date.. What do you think?

I always found it challenging to record a studio podcast: my analytical mind is trying to calculate every move, evaluate each transition & criticize the selection. I have time, music & equipment at my disposal, but one key element is missing to really tell a story: humans.

I encountered that problem last weekend. Although I was playing music I enjoy, I felt that my technically structured mix was too stiff and impersonal.

Then, some of my favourite humans turned up at the studio. As Ashley, Apolline, Axel & Robin entered the room, the studio was suddenly filled with a great energy & I felt like pressing the rec button again, just for fun - this is when the first minutes of  S y m b i o s e  were captured.

I feel this studio mix is an authentic representation of the energy levels I like to navigate through during a longer set. It features some of my favourite tracks in a nod to the past but also has a touch of the future; new sounds that are moving me forward & some of my new compositions.

I’m happy to share this mix as I’m taking off for Argentina, what marks my first adventure of the decade. This music session brought me clarity, presence & joy! I hope you'll resonate with it.
