Our invitation to perform at the Free Burn in 2021 was met with joyful anticipation, a bit of nerves, and gratitude - this would be our first time in the Black Rock Desert for the Free Burn. 

We played during sunset on the day that the Robot Heart Community celebrated Geo, and still remember the palpable love and human connection as everyone danced and honored him and his contribution to this magical place.  

The energy that was built from the time we set up all of our music gear, through the performance, to the very end, was out of this world. Playing live and completely improvised, our music was a direct reflection of the synthesis of human love and energy that intersected there, on the open desert plain in the glow of the setting sun.  

Thank you to the Robot Heart Community, Swamy, Gunita, Navid, and the countless friends and special souls who came together to make this one of the most memorable experiences - for all of us.

Our next guest, Schtu, a passionate electronic music artist with an expansive knowledge of a variety of different styles and genres, presents his drink of choice: the Vodka Cranberry!

Schtu was born at the start of the 90s in Sheffield, an ex-industrial city in the north of England. Always obsessed with music, he spent his teenage years playing guitar in bands and in 2010 he bought a pair of Technics 1210s and started to collect records to DJ with. Thanks to his clear dedication to the craft, the gigs quickly began to flow in and he was soon resident at several club nights, usually playing drum & bass.
In 2012 he discovered - and immediately fell in love with - the Berlin house & techno scene, and a year later moved there to further evolve his own style. 

He started producing his own music soon after, and has since gone on to release on established labels such as URSL, Connaisseur Recordings and Laut & Luise, receiving DJ support on his tracks from scene heavyweights such as Adriatique, Frankey & Sandrino, Super Flu and Adana Twins.

2021 then saw the launching of Schtu’s own label - Casomat, with the debut release (Schtu - ‘Siberian Express EP’) receiving a 10/10 review from German print magazine Faze Mag. He’s since gone on to feature artists such as Murat Uncuoglu, Aldebaran, Johannes Klingebiel and Deckert on the label.

More recently, Schtu has now added a live-set to his arsenal, with the debut performance being filmed at Grabowsee by production crew Berlin Brothers (link to video below).

2023 will see him continue doing what he loves most - writing music, collecting records and making people dance. Armed with a healthy collection of analogue gear he now has both the tools and the talent to step up his game and take his music to the next level.

Welcome to the 27th episode of the Confined Spaces Radio Show. This is a very special episode so I decided to change the usual concept of the show. When I invited our tonight's guest to record a mix for us I didn't expect that we're gonna get a proper treat. I was so excited for this show and it is a great honour to have him with us tonight, ladies and gents, Ibiza Sonica Radio boss Igor Marijuan is my guest tonight. I was expecting to receive the usual one hour mix but Igor sent the live set he played in Nido Ibiza at Las Dalias on February 23rd and since I loved the entire set, I decided to play it entirely in the show and cut out my part completely.

Igor Marijuan is a Co-founder and artist director of Ibiza Sonica since the beginning. Akasha Ibiza music director, Playground camp Burning Man music curator. Pareidolia promoter with events in Tulum, Shanghai, Amsterdam, Ibiza. Monad.social brand ambassador.

Igor Marijuan is easily recognized by his voice and his unique style of presenting. He has opened up the world of broadcasting and hosted countless parties, from the biggest clubs in Ibiza, festivals and events in the world such as ADE, BPM, Time Warp and Creamfields, SONAR, only to name a few. He uses a great deal of groundbreaking platforms like the radio Ibiza Sonica he founded 15 years ago or the brand new monad social, from inside the booths, at the clubs. 

With residencies at Akasha where he does the complete curation and previously at Rumors, Do not Sit, Acid Sundays, Space Ibiza, Solomun + live, Dystopia at Ushuaia among others. On the decks, he describes his sessions as a perfect balance between easy listening and smart sounds. His calling card is a variety of styles from deep to organic, afro or tech melodic, but basically house music that have taken him to cities like Berlin, Beijing, Sao Paulo, Mexico DF, Buenos Aires, Dusseldorf, Lima, Dubai, Zurich, Moscow, Frankfurt, Los Angeles, Miami, Milano or Paris.
