Robot Koch and BlankFor.ms team up for a new single release on Koch´s imprint Trees and Cyborgs.
"Migratory" is their 2nd collaboration track, following their successful first single "Subtle Ones".

Making use of BlankFor.ms signature degraded tape and synth sounds and Koch`s atmospheric and low-end heavy production, this pulsing hypnotic track combines detailed sound design with a contemplative mood and an uplifting feel that works equally well on the dancefloor as it does for headphone listening.

Both Robot Koch and BlankFor.ms have been busy this year so already, with upcoming artist projects, film and video game scores, and high-profile remixes for other artists.

Bio Robot Koch

Robot Koch is an award-winning artist/composer from Berlin, living in Los Angeles.
He has been steadily crafting an original sound that expertly combines a deep and cinematic atmosphere, emotional reflection, and forward-thinking production.
He remixed the likes of Max Richter, Rammstein, and Christian Löffler, collaborated with conductor Kristjan Järvi and the Nordic Pulse Orchestra, and played high-profile live shows at Coachella, Mutek, Sonar Festival, and Boiler Room.
Koch`s visual music lends itself to pictures and has been used on numerous TV Shows, Movie Trailers, Feature Films, and Ad campaigns over the last few years.
When he’s not pursuing his own artistic projects, Koch can be found working as a producer and writer for both indie and major artists worldwide, gaining gold and
Platinum records for his productions. 
He won several awards for his immersive Full Dome Live Show "Sphere" which sold out in Planetariums and Festivals worldwide and also won the German Music Composers Award in the category
'Best Composer Electronic Music’.
He has amassed over 75 million streams and garnered over half a million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. Koch is currently working on a movie- and videogame score as well as on new artist projects


Bio BlankFor.ms

BlankFor.ms uses degraded tapes and analog synthesizers to create sounds meant more for the body than the mind. He has become a notable figure in the world of experimental/ambient music, garnering accolades, high-profile remixes, and 95k followers across social media. 

His performance videos on Instagram were pivotal in inspiring an entire genre of top-down musical documentation on social platforms. 

His samples have been used by thousands of artists, including a cameo in the recent Ethan Gruska/Bon Iver single "So Unimportant". 

Over the next year he has a massive "Artist Series" instrument coming out with one of the world's most popular VST makers, a feature video in Ableton's "One Thing" series, and a video game score with an award winning software publisher. 

His contributions can be heard on records by Micah Jasper, Kiefer (Stones Throw), Robot Koch (Trees and Cyborgs), and many others. He has provided remixes for The Cinematic Orchestra, Arthur Moon, and Para One. Tyler grew up in rural Wyoming.

Sound In Silence is happy to welcome back Memory Drawings, presenting their new album Deathbed Requests.

Memory Drawings is an Anglo/American/Australian collective led by Minneapolis-raised, Casablanca-based hammered dulcimer player Joel Hanson (Judgement of Paris).

Deathbed Requests, their fifth album and second release for Sound In Silence after the Phantom Lights mini album back in 2019, consists of eight dense, dulcimer-driven, post-rock tracks that feel like chapters in a larger sonic narrative. The title is both a reference to Joel’s irreparable dissatisfaction with the appalling state of technofeudal America and the utopian desire to right its most egregious injustices. The title also refers to actual thoughts left unsaid to a few close friends in Joel’s life who have drifted away or died since A Few Scattered Hours was released at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
To forge the album’s more aggressive, rock-focused sound, Joel once again turned to former bandmates and friends from his hometown of Minneapolis. Dulcimer-player and percussionist Joel Smith contributed to the initial sketches of these tracks that were later made far more captivating by the contributions from musicians Joel hadn’t collaborated with in nearly three decades. Josh Larson (bass) and his brother Aaron Kesher (guitar) played alongside Joel in the early 90’s band Passage and his brother Brad (bass, guitar, keyboards, and interludes) was instrumental in shaping the sound of trance-pop pioneers Judgement of Paris. The evocative melodies of violinst Sarah Kemp (Brave Timbers) and cellist Peter Hollo (Tangents / FourPlay String Quartet) also grace several tracks on Deathbed Requests. The album closes with A Final Request, which began as an improvisation between Joel and Ben Chatwin eight years ago and remains the only track to be released from those sessions in Edinburgh. The album was mixed by Ross Halden and mastered by Simon Scott (Slowdive).

Deathbed Requests comes in two distinct editions.

The first one is a deluxe limited edition of 150 handmade, hand-stamped and hand-numbered collectible copies. This edition includes an exclusive bonus disc, not included in the other edition or the digital download. The bonus disc, mastered by George Mastrokostas (Absent Without Leave), includes remixes and reworks by Birds of Passage, Hessien, Maps and Diagrams, Yellow6, Stafrænn Hákon / OPandolfo, Cloudwarmer, Test Card, and Epic45, that are only available in physical format here. It is packaged in a lovely, hand-tied, sewn fabric envelope, which includes two 4 panel insert sheets containing tracklist and information printed on 290 gsm grey and off-grey recycled cardboards and the front cover images printed on polaroid style photo paper. It also comes bundled with a download code coupon and a Sound In Silence card.

The second one is a limited edition of 350 handmade and hand-numbered collectible copies. It is packaged in a lovely hand-stamped 127mm x 127mm 290 gsm grey recycled cardboard envelope with the front cover image printed on a polaroid style photo paper and an insert sheet containing tracklist and information printed on a 290 gsm off-grey recycled cardboard. It also comes bundled with a download code coupon and a Sound In Silence card.
