My old mac  dieth a death so here's a bit of a kitchen table bash around . A couple of months ago I had the chance to jam with a couple of friends on guitars at a dinner party. We played a few Stones covers, and the vibe was ok. Then suddenly someone named the Velvet Underground, so I started strumming and singing a classic number we used to perform pretty often when we were young, "I'm Waiting For My Man". I could really feel it, and when I got home I thought it was worth trying to record it. In the past we used to cover the Live 1969 version, but this time I tried to blend it with a couple of other renditions, namely the 1972 Transformer Tour performance and an acoustic demo recorded in 1965. Quite obviously, I ended up adding to this bizarre jumble my own touch. I completed most of the tracking in about a week, but it took me a long time before trying to record vocals. It somehow sounded dull and trivial to my ears, so I had lost interest in finishing the song. Then a couple of weeks ago I felt inspired and I did the vocals. I also added an organ and a Cretan lyra parts, to make the ending section sound a bit more exciting.
Hope you'll enjoy this studio jam, I think it sounds quite unusual if compared to the rest of my stuff, but at the end of the day it's not so bad to listen to.
