A heavy bass driven, psychedelic, grimey, bouncy, and intentional draw arises through this compilation which features 14 international underground producers: beatfarmer, CALMA DUB, Chris Komus, CloZee, DRRTYWULVZ, Echo&Tito (TRIBONE Remix), Ecometric, Floating Anarchy, Halfred, Johny Pablo, K.L.O, Matt Pleztrom, Secret Recipe, and Sixis. Representing USA, France, Canada, Israel, Italy, and UK, these tunes are fresh, cutting-edge, and imaginative - they’re underground gems. For the 25th edition of Rusted Rhythms, The Rust's resident Face Plant is channeling his ghoulish musings through the veil of Halloween. Jason Shepherd, the man behind the alias, is already noted for his penchant for all things spooky and far out. Elaborating on that supernatural infatuation, the tracklist for this mix is the ideal soundscape for All Hallow's Eve. Anchored throughout the mix are a slew of unreleased Face Plant goodies, showcasing his palette of nuclear-charged synthesis and generative sound design. Fat wobbles don't go out of style; they simply adapt, evolve, and become fatter wobbles, and Shepherd lives by this platitude. Beyond the Face Plant originals, the mix is littered with selectors from some of the more prolific names in electronically produced music, most notably Mr. Bill, Alon Mor, Culprate, and Ion Driver. Tapping from the well of hip-hop and it's pervasive spin-offs, the likes of Gramatik, Tab & Anitek, and Rasp 5 find their homes in this edition of Rusted Rhythms as well, complimenting what is already a hip-hop rhythmic focus. Govinda has been continuously redefining and rebranding itself. After revisiting this project a myriad of times to ensure absolute perfection, Govinda presents Burning Rings of Helios, now out on Gravitas Music. This seven-track album has been Shane’s favorite project to produce thus far, as it traverses different realms of gypsy violin and dives into new inspiration stemming from circus arts. The beats are soft and subtle, yet abrasive and envelope crushing to take Burning Rings of Helios unexpected places while still staying true to Govinda.

Listeners are greeted by a mysterious violin in “CObra STyle” before encountering an upbeat, gypsy dubtronica soundscape that is composed of several twists and turns. The journey proceeds to meet the “Goblin King,” who welcomes visitors with piercing melodic vocals that accompany soothing strings and an abundance of glitch. “Inside Your World” explores the dark and haunting depths of exotic bass, with bewitching vocals that urge listeners to continue the designated path. A sultry violin fluidly glides through the sharp cosmic atmosphere, which causes eyes to wander into “Nebulous Space.” Once consciousness returns, a muted trumpet in “Smokey Memories” attempts to defog hazy recollections in a mellow blues. Soon after, live instrumentation is employed in “Bent Cipher” to distribute a gratifying electronic jazz punch. As the pilgrimage comes to an end, assorted elements featured in preceding tracks are incorporated to tie up the project into a “Twisted” finale.
