Pretty good, pretty good.  I only became a fan as recent as As Good As Dead.  Then Hamfisted was probably my least favorite album.  Not that it's muddled, but it's kind of muddled sounding.  Not that I don't have favorites off the track.  It's not an album I'm going to listen to from beginning to end, and hearing Scott's criticism of his approach toward the album, it becomes clear why.  "Pretentious" has been thrown around, and there's Joe's seemingly sour grapes.  However, I've listened to this three times now and it is an album I'll listen to from beginning to end.  I'm not going to pretend it's pure gold or that I know all the little changes, I don't get any hate.  Like just the tonal change in Cynic with the softer chorus at the end, pretty sweet.  Scottie's crying is some top tier crying.  But for me, Manipulator's dissonance nears Nirvana's Milk It (demo) and the horns in Strict-9 elevate that song to such heights and it was already my favorite song off the album...

This version of Sports Bar sounds like how I would imagine it would feel if Frank Capra remade It's a Wonderful Life 30 years later but this time instead of Jimmy Stewart as George Bailey he cast Christopher Walken.
