Since first emerging on the scene, Mary Droppinz has encapsulated what it means to be a dynamic DJ and producer. From her tunes in the house music realm to exploring breakbeats with a touch of acid lines along the way, her unique style has translated to sets that will keep you dancing the entire time. Mary Droppinz's dive into breaks was put on full display in 2021 with the release of tracks like "Crypto Queen" while she explored electro on "Acid Mother" as well.

Now, with the new year in full swing, Mary Droppinz has dropped something fresh for her growing fanbase to feast on with the release of "Hot Pants" on Insomniac Records' sub-label Discovery Project. For this tune, the Nebraska-born artist leans heavily into breakbeats to deliver a sensational vibe that will transport you back in time to the warehouse parties back in the day. And to take "Hot Pants" to the next level she teamed up with Rowa to add some vocals that will leave listeners mesmerized.

Speaking about the track, Mary Droppinz said that its name stems from the breakbeat pattern she used to create it. "‘Hot Pants’ vibe encompasses the spiritual connection that I have to music specifically breaks, acid, and techno," she stated. "With Rowa’s operative vocals, it creates this truly hypnotic experience."

To celebrate the release and give everyone a taste of her dynamic mixing abilities, Mary Droppinz spun up an exclusive guest mix filled to the brim with gems for our Winter Waveforms series. "This high-energy mix encompasses my sound as a DJ and a producer. There are some unreleased original IDs in there for your listening pleasure," she said. "'Hot Pants' is at the end of my live recorded mix so please enjoy the journey!"
