Every now and then a release comes along for us which carries just that little extra bit of weight and significance and the Mind In A Daze EP from Solid Gold Playaz is one of those. The US duo have released some of our favourite house tracks dating back to the late nineties so it is a real pleasure to have them produce four amazing new tracks for us here on Freerange.  We are premiering 'The Kiss', track two from the EP.  An expansive and immersive track which envelops the listener and draws you in.  A driving house groove with punchy claps make the perfect counterpart to the blissed-out widescreen pads and glitchy mechanised synth sequence making for a very special track.

Lyon-based house whizkid Lekind returns to his spiritual home of Robsoul recordings for the first time since his ’21 brace of Influences, ready to drop his new 'Classics Always Win’EP.
Hitting on a misspent youth digging through his dad's record collection, Night Renaissance stomps a straight 4x4, garnished with eerie jazz keys, grooving bass, chopped vocal and added horns, to create a smokey basement bump.
'Ghetto Girl’ is one for the essentials toolbox, with its growling bass and bump. This girl rolls down town with serious amounts of swing. ‘Classics Always Win' brings to life his Roland TR8 and MC303 to create sunshine loop that funks for days… just listen to that bassline.
On final track, 'Does The MPC Burn', the Frenchman winds the filters, stabs the vocals and ignites the dancefloor… Burn? Yes, it does.

Release number 4 on the vinyl-only label and blog, Bare Bones Wax sees the start of a new VA series called “Laid Bare”. Much like the very first release, the premise is to showcase the sound the label purveys. Underground house legend Lil’ Mark supplies the A1 track “Bare 2 The Bone”. Twisted synths, tough beats and a killer bassline drive this track so it will kill any dancefloor. Carlo Gambino returns to BBW for the second time with “Satchmo”. Lush licks, deep beats and a spoken vocal give a warm deep workout in his unique style.

On the flip Romanian producer Dragosh makes his debut on the label with “Fresh Fruit”. Having released on labels such as Curtea Veche, Desolat and Memoria you can expect a deep minimal offering with nice interwoven vocals for a modern sound. The final track on the package comes from the Italian duo, Heat Alliance. “Morning Light” has a classic feel with uplifting vocals, warm pads and synths complimented by a deep funky bassline. The result gives the release four tracks that encompass four very different styles, just as we believe a VA release should be!

Nomada Records proudly welcomes Detroit's legendary House and Techno producer Gari Romalis with "Detroit Hustle EP"; a four track release where we can enjoy the distrinctive and slinky Deep House and Techno energy that characterizes Gari Romalis' sound.

The A-side starts with "I'm Wonder Luc" a heavy weight opener where Gari catches us with punchy drums, warm pads, infectious sub basslines, catchy vocal samples and deep piano stabs. The following track is called "Floor Anthem (Ghost Mix)"; a nostalgic deep house beauty with Lush chords, chunky beats and catchy melodies.

Phil Weeks is a house music purist. Whether DJing or producing, the Parisian with the huge personality delivers raw beats influenced in equal measure by
classic Chicago house and nu‐school French flair, underpinned with a hip‐hop attitude. His long running Robsoul Recordings also defines him as one of the
most skilled label heads in underground house music.
In the studio Phil is dedicated to classic hardware like Akai’s MPC 3000 sampler and Roland’s TR909 drum machine. He has released more than 250 tracks and
remixes since his debut in 2000, working with labels including 2020 Vision, Music For Freaks, Brique Rouge, Detour, Adult Only and his own Robsoul, which
is responsible for the majority of his original output. 

Phil’s work can also be found in the collaborations Fries & Bridges (with Hector Moralez) and PS Project/Bubba Beats & Kid Piston (with DJ Sneak). Production highlights include Phil’s three albums ‘Love Affair’ (2011), ‘Yeah I Like That’ (2003) and ‘Raw Instrumental’ (2012), alongside style‐defining singles ‘Hypnose’, ‘It Put Me Well’ and ‘All Day Every Day’. The music has been
heavily supported by international dance press including achieving accolades such as MixMag’s and De‐Bug’s ‘Album Of The Month’, while DJs ranging from
Danny Howells and Yousef to Mark Farina and DJ Sneak consistently play his tracks. Behind the decks, Phil has racked up enough air miles to take him around the
world several times over, with appearances at the world’s leading house clubs ‐ Queen’s Club, Sankeys, Circus, Ministry of Sound, Back to Basics and Stereo are
all regular haunts, alongside his Paris residency ‘Get Underground’ at the infamous Rex Club.

Phil has also fully embraced the relationship with his fans and house music fans in general – whether through his popular ‘Underground Chronicles’ video diaries
on Youtube or his personal relationships on Facebook.
Despite his success Phil isn’t one to brag. To him it’s all about keeping proper house music alive. Which just goes to prove Phil Weeks is a house music purist.
