Fledgling London-based producer Malfie returns to Robsoul for a fourth dispatch, adding to his burgeoning discography with another package of funk-heavy, toughed-out, street-influenced House.
The Groove Story EP opens with the cantering, slow and low Odd Flip. A shuffling groove with cut’n’splice aesthetics at its heart, sporting soulful vocal runs and radiant vibes.
The title track comes with bottom-heavy kick drums and pulsing, rolling basslines in a decisively 90’s feel-good tone, while closer Feelin Good does exactly what it says on the tin. Boosting the mood with its finely tuned filters and French Touch bump.

Robsoul boss Phil Weeks long-time friend, Cory Wells, steps up on the label with a first from a selection of forthcoming freshness from the American producer.  

Bringing the same vibes as featured on cuts for Guided Method and Vibezelect, Wells bursts into life with Only For Kisses, a cantering jam that's pushed along by flecks of percussion and a live jazz bass that gives the track its swing.

'Party Down’ gets loooow with its drop-top groove, before 'Who Do You Love' brings a calypso-licked RnB flava in time for the summer.  Final jam, 'What We Gunna Do’ runs heavy on the filters, with its bulbous bass line, chunky kick drums, pressurised hi hats and spoken-word vocal, to create a soulful deep groover.

Sydney's Steve Robinson returns to Robsoul, following his 2021 ‘Bug Jazz’ Ep, with a trio of instructive new jams on his 'Come On Get Up’ EP.

The title track opens with the funk-fuelled title track. Finessing the filters, slapping the bass and spreading some uplifting vocal hooks, ‘Come On Get Up’ has already strutting towards the dancefloor. On the Dub, Steve oscillates the vocals and boosts them with a reinforced, syrupy bassline and weighted kicks.

Robinson flips on the flip, now demanding we 'Sit Down’, as he drops a pulsing techy beat in our laps. Chopped and screwed vocals and plump, grinding bass that is crying out for a rooftop sunshine session. Rounding things out, 'You Gonna’ goes deep with its bugging drums and running keys to smooth out another sweet Robsoul session.

So, only decision now is, are you gonna sit down or get up.

The Mekanism is back with more of his forward thinking and super fresh house music, this time on legendary French label Robsoul Recordings and featuring the one and only Mr V.

Releasing on labels such as Moan Recordings, hedZup Records and Whippin' Records, The Mekanism is a high class studio talent with a great understanding of the roots of house and plenty of his own innovative ideas. He combines those to great effect once more here.

This Is My Day is timeless house music with an irresistibly slinky groove. The perfect hi hats and catchy drums are overlaid with Mr V's vocal musings which draw you in deep and add plenty of genuine soul. The chord vamps keep on heating the beats and subtle filters keep things dynamic. This is textbook French house music that also comes as a dub and acapella.

The Mekanism proves why he is one of the new school house tastemakers with this latest standout offering.

Canadian house purveyor and Robsoul regular, Vincent Caira, returns to the fold with Jet Fuel Gelato - a funk soaked, uplifting house number that nods to the past while being perfectly assembled for all modern dancefloors.

Named after the strain of THC-soaked bud, the track takes the listener on a wonky-disco workout with a phat bottom end and oscillating effects that create the perfect hazy atmosphere for the late-night dancefloor.

The House brings a staunch kick, dancing bassline and smooth smokey keys, that work together to deliver deep, jazzy groover. Discoworx lives up to its title, delivering snappy beats, sparkling chords and firing filters, all keeping the disco torch burning bright.

Phil Weeks is a house music purist. Whether DJing or producing, the Parisian with the huge personality delivers raw beats influenced in equal measure by
classic Chicago house and nu‐school French flair, underpinned with a hip‐hop attitude. His long running Robsoul Recordings also defines him as one of the
most skilled label heads in underground house music.
In the studio Phil is dedicated to classic hardware like Akai’s MPC 3000 sampler and Roland’s TR909 drum machine. He has released more than 250 tracks and
remixes since his debut in 2000, working with labels including 2020 Vision, Music For Freaks, Brique Rouge, Detour, Adult Only and his own Robsoul, which
is responsible for the majority of his original output. 

Phil’s work can also be found in the collaborations Fries & Bridges (with Hector Moralez) and PS Project/Bubba Beats & Kid Piston (with DJ Sneak). Production highlights include Phil’s three albums ‘Love Affair’ (2011), ‘Yeah I Like That’ (2003) and ‘Raw Instrumental’ (2012), alongside style‐defining singles ‘Hypnose’, ‘It Put Me Well’ and ‘All Day Every Day’. The music has been
heavily supported by international dance press including achieving accolades such as MixMag’s and De‐Bug’s ‘Album Of The Month’, while DJs ranging from
Danny Howells and Yousef to Mark Farina and DJ Sneak consistently play his tracks. Behind the decks, Phil has racked up enough air miles to take him around the
world several times over, with appearances at the world’s leading house clubs ‐ Queen’s Club, Sankeys, Circus, Ministry of Sound, Back to Basics and Stereo are
all regular haunts, alongside his Paris residency ‘Get Underground’ at the infamous Rex Club.

Phil has also fully embraced the relationship with his fans and house music fans in general – whether through his popular ‘Underground Chronicles’ video diaries
on Youtube or his personal relationships on Facebook.
Despite his success Phil isn’t one to brag. To him it’s all about keeping proper house music alive. Which just goes to prove Phil Weeks is a house music purist.
