connected jump-start summer with a fantastic collection of remixes of Marius Maier, aka Re.You's excellent ‘Maison’ album from May this year. Top contemporary artists who are all close personal DJ friends of Marius all feature to add their own slant and style, including his brother Santé, plus Rodriguez Jr., Anja Schneider, Floyd Lavine, Kadosh and plenty more.
Up first, Cologne natives and underground mainstays AndHim flip 'Inyani' ft.Oluhle & Aaaron into a steamy tribal house cut with worldly vocal wails and withering synths that make you want to wiggle. Chief Mobilee artist Rodriguez Jr. then goes for a cosmic minded rework of Relocate ft. Stereo MCs that has subtle but epic breakdowns and frazzled bass building the mood.
Topango then takes 'Inyani' and sensitively rebuilds it as a spine-tingling vocal cut with a spiritual atmosphere that is truly unique, and Innervisions and Watergate's deep and melodic house maestro Kadosh shows off his superb skills on his steamy and mysterious remix of 'Soft.' David Mayer lays down some of his fancily heavy but funky drum grooves on a remix of 'If You' ft.Elli that will have you skipping along in no time, and Berlin's tireless creative force Anja Schneider then stands out with her emotive take on 'Strings Of Joy' ft. Florian Busse & Ahmad, which has a storytelling lead synth and chunky drums all overlaid with a big-hearted vocal.
Avidus is Marc Wolf and Fritz Wagner, a pair who have turned heads in just two short years thanks to tunes on Crosstown which have been as compelling, sensitive and well crafted as the synth dances that weave into their remix of 'When I'm Lost' ft.Elli. Next up, new school Berlin tastemaker Santé remixes 'Relocate' ft. Stereo Mc's into a chunky, stripped-back house groove for cosy basement spaces and South African house hero Floyd Lavine returns to his home label with another vital remix that takes on an elegant and afro tinged trip into stunning house territory. German duo and MoBlack associates Cosmo & Kramer then close out with a ragged, electro-tinged version of Strings Of Joy ft. Florian Busse & Ahmad that will make the club sweat.
These are fantastic new reinterpretations of the excellent source material and all add up to a high-class treasure trove for DJs and dancers alike.

For our second release of the year, we welcome Hamburg pairing, Cosmo & Kramer. Appearing on the first edition of our ‘Solid(e) State’ various artists series last year, they provided us with the impressive and wholesome arpeggio roller ‘Last Government’.
A track that stayed firmly in our hearts and minds ever since, we just had to bring the guys back for a solo EP, full of Cosmo & Kramer goodness. Taking shape on Solide014, Cosmo & Kramer land with their ‘Bingo Fun’ EP, comprising three tracks laced with exuberant nu-disco energy.
The shimmering, bongo-led title track ‘Bingo Fun’ ignites with a sure glow of high-tempo, dancefloor spirit; a delectable feast of punchy kicks and crisp snares. Digging deep on ‚Really?’, Cosmo & Kramer’s emotive synth work takes hold, soaring with cinematic effect, before closing out with ‘Bonus Romance’. A bubbling end to the story, ‘Bonus Romance’ sees the spell of C&K cast via glistening melody and the harmonising of lush percussive elements.
A truly pleasurable addition to the Solide family, ‘Bingo Fun’ EP offers up a swirling dancefloor love affair, sure to conjure moments of warmth and togetherness that live far beyond the club.

In recent years, we have been exploring those relationships with different remixes and collaborations, and every time something exciting came out. That’s why we started our Synchronicity project. To challenge ourselves making inspiring, fun and beautiful music.

‘Synchronicity’ means "the simultaneous occurrence of events which appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection.

KOMPAKT welcomes back three dear friends – Copenhagen’s WhoMadeWho. Tomas Barfod’s penchant for electronic music poetically juxtaposed with Tomas Høffding and Jeppe Kjellberg’s respective backgrounds in rock and jazz, gives their music an electrifying combination of sounds, merging a variety of influences to produce a unique sonic fingerprint that is emotive, irresistible and immensely satisfying.

Though we both have yet to strike a note together since the release of their 2012 full length “Brighter” (KOM 254), WhoMadeWho have been remarkably productive. With two full lengths, a DJ mix for Watergate’s series and releasing two of 2019’s most played out club tracks together with Rampa (Innervisions) and Artbat (Watergate Records), the trio have found themselves diving more and more into the world of electronic music, tapping into their goldmine of connections within the scene to spearhead an array of collaborations.

The result is Synchronicity – a series of 3 EP’s then a full length album to be released throughout 2020 on KOMPAKT.

We start things off with a collaboration with Ireland’s finest dance music export, Mano Le Tough. “Oblivion” is a dream matrimony which is blissfully charged by an emotional beat and swaying vocals. Barcelona’s Marc Piñol has been an extended part of the Kompakt family thanks to his connections to the Nitsa family and our adoration for his DJing and releases on labels such as Hivern Discs and Black Money. Laid back and severely sexy, “Sooner” sways the soul with its disco flared passion. Another artist we cannot get enough of is Berlin’s Perel – she brings her singular vision of Neue Deutsche Welle to a classic WhoMadeWho beat on “Der Abend Birgt Keine Ruh”. It’s a duet like none other. Last but not least, Frank Wiedemann is famed for his work as half of Âme and also as a member of The Howling. Thanks to a pre-lockdown recording session in Berlin, they all came up with two singles – the first we can share is “Peter Pan Me" where they take pull and restraint approach that lets Tomas and Jeppe’s vocals cry with a forcefulness and passion which is set to remain in your head forever after.
