QUANTUM CANTICLE

This is a new song written last year, another love song for my wife of course!😂. That makes pretty near a hundred, I'd say! 🤔😂 I actually wrote it for her for Valentine's Day this year but my vocals were so weak I just couldn't release it! I wanted to write a jazzy song this time, so I wrote some lyrics and picked up my acoustic guitar and played chords until this song was born. I love jazz but unfortunately I can't play or sing it very well.

The video was fun to put together, I always enjoy producing videos having to do with love! So when I did the storyboard for this video I decided to make it a ghost story, who doesn't love a ghost story, right? I made it about a man grieving over his wife's passing and how he misses her so very much, especially during the holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. It's a bit heartbreaking and bittersweet but so is life! I've known many people that go through this kind of grief and sadness. The line about a ballerina dancing in the clouds was a clue about her dancing in heaven! I tweaked that line and re-recorded the vocal for the video.   

Charlie did not want to sing this song because it's very complex with a lot of key changes, so I sang it myself, I apologize for that because I don't think I sang it well at all! I just don't have that Jazz voice like Nat King Cole! Man if he sang this song it would have been so chill. It's another very raw song with minimal overdubs! I wanted it to be very intimate! I actually also wrote different lyrics for a female singer to sing as well but no one, male or female, wanted to sing it for me!! The female version have happier lyrics and have nothing to do with anyone dying. Well, I guess it's not a very good song but I think the guitar solo sounds pretty cool anyway. I had this slated to be dropped in February on Valentine's Day like I said but I thought I did such an awful job singing it that I pushed it back to June, I may push it back to oblivion after a few days or maybe turn it into an instrumental piece instead later on, I don't know? But anyway, here's to all the Lady Loves out there! All your men love you, you know that! Love is always the answer!!  Cheers! 💝🙏✌🏼

My anti-AI rant song ... I wrote this shortly after a friend of mine proudly told me how she'd created a song using AI which she had fed a sample of her voice. This gal doesn't sing. She sent me the YouTube link to the song and obviously wanted my feedback.

Way overdue for something new but I've been living in exile without the usual, albeit modest, setup I'm used to. So this might be pretty rough. And it's full of the usual horror at political realities and way full of schmaltzy velveeta. 

Guitarist note:  I don't have amps at present and was struggling to find a decent direct sound. There is a *free* VST plugin by Neural Amp DSP and online libraries of tone prints, also free, that came to the rescue. Highly recommended.

So ~ I wasn't really intending on writing / recording another new song at the moment since I'm attempting to finish a number of other songs for my current project ~~but This One came to me one day in July & I felt compelled & decided to kind of drop everything  & record it, as I was hearing it as the possible song I may tag on as the Final Song of my new project once it is complete to close it out ~~
