DJ Mental 69 -  COO for Whirling Dervish, and the Fantastic Hosts. DJ Mental 69 (aka Mental) has been delivering deep funky beats for over 20 years. He has DJ'd for events and clubs across the US, Canada, and Japan. For the past 17 years, Mental has been behind https://www.facebook.com/FantasticHosts , a Denver staple for large events, and known particularly for innovative multimedia, cirque performance spectaculars 3-4 times per year for paying audiences of 1-3000 people. Look for him as the headline DJ at Fantastic Host parties, Bar Standard Weekly Sunday rooftops, Club Beta, and occasional rare appearances at large festivals including EDC Las Vegas. In 2016, Mental joined with Kaz Q, to form Whirling Dervish, bringing large warehouse-style events with acts like Sasha, Digweed, Camelphat, Mochakk, Rabbit in the Moon, Carl Cox, Josh Wink, Deepdish, Roger Sanchez, Quivver, Hernan Cattaneo, Nicole Moudaber,  and Guy J to Denver.

Every once in a while I get inspired (or bored) and compose a track. This has been going on since about 1998. Some of the tracks on this page are that old, some are newer.

About the use of video game samples: the original compositions in these vintage video games are to me musical masterpieces and in the sampling of these songs I am paying homage and breathing new life to the originals. I truly believe the original composers are a very under-appreciated group of genius individuals.
