Biographie
Rumor has it that Antilux was born out of a strange nocturnal encounter in the forest. It was in
2010 that these two from Brussels got closer in a context that was so dark and uncertain.

Each of them disguised with a thick mask; one would hum as the other pinched strange
chords on his guitar. More drawn to each other than being afraid by the strangeness of their
confrontation, they’d unite in order to deliver us music where electronic sounds permeate
through such influences as blues and rock.

In March 2012 the duo released their first album, “Sleeping Below the Cloud,” on the BOYA
Entertainment label. This record is like a walk taken at a cinematographic pace, where the
strength of a dark post-dub step meets the ambiance of a dream-like guitar, sustained by
redeeming singing.

Antilux is het elektronisch project van een Brusselse producer .

Zijn ritmes en melodieën worden gekleurd door zijn heel diverse invloeden, gaande van abmbiant tot dubtep met een vleugje rock.

Zowel live als op plaat begeleidt Misopoo het project met zijn gitaar, de nadruk leggende op het laatste ingrediënt van dit universum.

"Antilux trakteert ons op een cinégrafische wandeling waar alles naar het donkere en zachte lijkt te wenden."

Zich laten krabben door de geluidsgolven van Antilux is net als 's nachts in het midden van een woud rondlopen… donker, maar net niet donker genoeg om er niet te blijven.

C'est en 2010 que ces deux bruxellois se sont approchés, dans ce contexte pourtant si sombre et incertain.
Chacun le visage camouflé d'un masque épais, l'un fredonnait tandis que l'autre pincait d'étranges accords sur sa guitare. 


Plus attirés l'un par l'autre qu'effrayés par l'étrangeté de leur confrontation ils s'unirent pour nous délivrer une musique où des sonorités électroniques résonnent à travers des influences telles que le blues et le rock.


En Mars 2012, le duo sort son premier album "Sleeping Below the Cloud" sur le label BOYA Entertainment. 
Ce disque est une promenade à l'allure cinématographique, où se rencontrent la puissance 
d'une sombre post-dubstep et l'ambiance atmosphérique d'une guitare onirique, soutenue par un chant rédempteur..."

FORMATION | FOR ALL WE'VE LEFT BEHIND

 

FORMED IN 2018, BLACK LAKES CREATE A SOUND THAT DELIBERATELY BLURS THE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN HARD ROCK AND ALTERNATIVE METAL, DRAWING ON A WIDE RANGE OF INFLUENCES FROM ACROSS BOTH SCENES.

 

BASED ON THE STRENGTH OF A WELL RECEIVED DEBUT EP, THE BAND SUCCESSFULLY CROWDFUNDED THE PRODUCTION THEIR DEBUT ALBUM 'FOR ALL WE'VE LEFT BEHIND' WHICH WAS RELEASED IN FEBRUARY OF 2022 TO CRITICAL ACCLAIM.

 

PRODUCED BY PREMIER ROCK AND METAL PRODUCER ROMESH DODANGODA, THE ALBUM ACHIEVED SEVERAL NOTABLE ACCOLADES, INCLUDING BEING NAMED ALBUM OF THE YEAR BY FOUR MEDIA OUTLETS INCLUDING ERB MAGAZINE AND EAST LONDON RADIO. THE SINGLES FROM F.A.W.L.B ENJOYED EXTENSIVE AIRPLAY ACROSS NATIONAL RADIO INCLUDING KERRANG, ERB, PLANET ROCK AND THE BBC.

 

THE ALBUM WAS FURTHER BOLSTERED BY FEATURES IN PRINTED PRESS, INCLUDING ARTICLES IN FIREWORKS, POWER PLAY & EMERGING ROCK BANDS MAGAZINE.

 

THE BAND HAVE WORKED HARD TO BUILD A REPUTATION AS A CAPTIVATING LIVE ACT, PICKING UP NEW FANS FROM ACROSS THE UK AND ARE ALWAYS STRIVING TO BUILD ON THEIR PREVIOUS SHOWS TO CREATE SOMETHING BIGGER AND BETTER FOR THEIR GROWING FANBASE TO ENJOY.

 

DEAD GODS | THE FUTURE

 

FOLLOWING THE SUCCESS OF THEIR CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN, AND AS A REACTION TO FAN DEMAND FOR MORE NEW MUSIC, THE BAND RAN A PRE-ORDER CAMPAIGN VIA THEIR OWN WEBSTORE TO FUND THE PRODUCTION OF THEIR SOPHOMORE ALBUM. THE RESPOSE WAS OVERWHELMING, RAISING OVER £8,000 THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE APPEAL.

 

ONCE AGAIN WORKING WITH ROMESH DODANGODA, THE BAND RECORDED THE NEW ALBUM, ‘DEAD GODS’ IN LATE 2023 AND HAVE NOW SET A RELEASE DATE AS 06.09.2024.

 

THE SINGLES ‘WHITE CLIFFS’ & ‘HURRICANE’ HAVE ONCE AGAIN SEEN THE BAND FEATURED ON NATIONAL RADIO ACROSS THE UK AS WELL AS INTERNATIONALLY.

AS THE RELEASE OF THEIR SOPHOMORE ALBUM LOOMS EVER CLOSER, BLACK LAKES SHOW NO SIGNS OF SLOWING DOWN, AND REMAIN DEDICATED TO  THE CROWDS THEY SEE  GROW LARGER AT EVERY SHOW.

Ipecac Recordings is the brainchild of Greg Werckman (former label manager for the legendary punk label, Alternative Tentacles, employee for Mercury Records for a record 15 minutes, currently operating Pick-A-Winner Management) and Mike Patton (former frontman for Faith No More, Mr. Bungle, currently of Fantômas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom).

Werckman and Patton had been scheming for years (in between video games) about starting their very own label, waiting for just the right moment to unleash their master plan. Ipecac Recordings is not about to make music biz history and execute a revolution (although one is surely needed) or bore you by waxing poetic about their original musical philosophies. But if we have to adhere to a "mission statement," how about the notion of being an honest, artist friendly label run on a shoe string with no outrageous promotional or production costs. This label is a home to Mike Patton's eclectic musical collaborations as well as a place where bands we admire have the freedom to release music they might not be able to, or want to, release on other labels.
