Peter Croce is a Detroit based deejay, musician, and producer. His releases have been supported by the likes of Mr. Scruff, Gilles Peterson, Jimpster, The Black Madonna, Dimitri From Paris, Danny Krivit, Jeremy Underground, Simbad, Aroop Roy, Andy Weatherall, Waajeed, Sasha, and more. In addition to releasing on Razor-N-Tape, In Any Case, Kampana, Nite Owl Diner Cool Ranch, and Worldwide FM Awards’ 2017 label of the year On The Corner, he owns and operates Rocksteady Disco and manages MotorCity Wine Recordings. His DJ sets are eclectic and musical, drawing from deep house, jazz funk, disco, techno, balearic, and other global sounds.

The story goes that he's a deejay/producer/musician, Rocksteady Disco label boss hailing from Detroit, a cancer, probably an enneagram 7, who's known to consume copious amounts of third wave coffee and fix deejay booths around the city. 
This mix was recorded live at a legendary vinyl-only party in Detroit called Slow Jams back on Labor Day 2016. It's some of my favorite music that I grew up hearing around my house or have discovered in my never-ending digging escapades. Heaps of jazz funk, rare groove, and balearic sounds inside."

Inspired by the Balearic movement of the mid-80s and its many new interpretations, today we start Balearic BBQ, a new mix and occasional event series. BBBQ stands for slightly softer, slightly dreamier and more downtempo dance music that adopts an anything goes mantra.

And who better to kick off the series with than DJ Alfredo himself? For many, his residency at San Rafael's Amnesia Club set the cornerstone for the Balearic movement. Between 1983 and 1988, Alfredo would play six to seven nights a week, seven to twelve hours a night for one of the most sophisticated and cosmopolitan crowds of that era. With his eclectic mixing style, he would combine Spanish Flamenco, UK Rock, German Techno, and European Disco with the latest US House arrivals and would eventually re-shape the island's nightlife and encourage many to spread the movement all over Europe.

Today, Alfredo is still residing in Ibiza and is a highly esteemed guest on many different nights of the island. For this mix, he took inspiration from Sant Josep's Ses Salines nature reserve, his favourite place to recharge his batteries in summer.
