I am a musician, singer and songwriter originally from Edinburgh but now based in South-West France. I'm also one half of the Americana duo "Mount Juliet", with my wife and fellow singer-songwriter Hannah. Influenced by every genre from the Beatles to Tom Petty and beyond, I've released 7 full solo albums and a couple of EP's and use Soundcloud to let people hear some of what is on those, plus other demos and bits and pieces. Some autobiographical, some my world-view and little bits of imaginary travel based on the random things I see and hear and some are simply "what if..." kind of songs. Jim Condie - Scots-born guitarist, singer and songwriter - has achieved considerable success as a freelance accompanist, session player and studio musician. Condie's reputation in electric and acoustic blues/Americana/rock music has been earned through working alongside a huge range of performers, legends in their own time, ranging from Van the Man to Hercules the Bear, from Ali Farka Touré to Rab C Nesbitt, Sugar Blue to Louisiana Red, Mose Scarlett to Sam Brown, Tam White to Alan Black (my, what a colourful bunch!) - the list could go on forever! In addition, his session work for the BBC has included loads of soundtrack work, one of the best known being the theme from BBC tv's Rab C Nesbitt! He has been featured on albums by Amos Garrett, Tam White, The Dexters, the Rootsie Tootsie Band, The Soup Dragons, Mose Scarlett, Davie Paton, Curtis E Johnson, Cousti and Blueflint.

In 2002, building on his success behind other performers, and encouraged by fans and fellow musicians, Jim, at the ripe old age of 50 realised a long held ambition - the recording and release of his first solo CD, Distant Cousins. This blends his love of American traditional music with self-penned and contemporary songs and instrumentals that serve as a showcase for his talents on vocals, acoustic guitar, Dobro, mandolin, lap steel and bass.
