Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want

Lyrics:

I found a note in a drawer, scribbled to a landlord, or maybe a god, or maybe to myself. 

I can't recall the incident that prompted it, though the handwriting is mine. The words are faint, as if the pen was long dry; the impression tentative, only visible when angled toward the light just so. 

It reads: Fix it, please. By all that's holy. And again: Fix it, fool. At least it looks like fool. It may be: for god’s sake or father or fucker. The legibility trails off. And yet despite the weak hand, from the angle of the strokes and the language used, there's an undeniable urgency to it. Fix it, please.

It seems unlikely that the problem was solved. After all, the note wasn’t delivered. I wonder, is this unnamed something still in disrepair? The message could be years old — maybe a decade. What to do?  

I put pen to paper, but to whom do I direct my inquiry? How can I complain when I'm unsure what's been neglected. There are so many possibilities. 

But then, maybe it doesn't matter which issue I have in mind. Maybe it doesn't matter if I address myself or a god or the landlord.

Fix it, please. By all that’s holy. Fix it, fool. Fix it, father. Fix it, fucker.

Once again, into a drawer, forgotten once more.

Fix It

The One Man Male Voice Choir gives us another track from his forthcoming album 'The Queen is Deaf'; a tribute to legendary 80s band 'The Smiths' who did so much to bring traditional Welsh values of misery, insecurity and nihilistic pessimism to a broader audience.
This is 'I know it's over' of which the OMMVC says "It's got a latin flavour, provided by Rhosnesni combo Los Property, with backing vocals by The Caegotones, a legendary trio. The Wrexham Leader said 'the song's finale is taken over by The Caegotones in a massive exhibition of self-indulgence' which, in a Smiths tribute, is the highest compliment they could have been paid."

No one would have believed, in the last quarter of the twentieth century, that musical affairs were being watched from the timeless depths of Wales. No one could have dreamed that the charts were being scrutinised as someone with a microscope studies creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of water. Few men even considered the possibility of musical life in Rossett. And yet, across the gulf, minds of mischief regarded the popularity of Lynsey De Paul and Peter Skellern with envious eyes, and slowly, and surely, they drew their plans against them.
Punk in North Wales sprang out of Rossett, bringing a shock to the Wrexham nervous system.  Several bands emerged from this crucible of Wrexham punk; including Kak in Y Bag, The Flaming Great Jessies, Snot Y Mochyn, and Malcolm and the Gobshites who shot to Welsh fame with this, their first hit, 'Caergwrle'. 
The Caergwrle Parish Council, alarmed by the song, had to issue a press statement denying the claim that Caergwrle closed too early, insisting that their pubs and restaurants were open to the public as late as half past nine, even on Sundays.
