For her Soft Spot, we reminisced about specific records and moments she experienced on the Friendly Potential dancefloor over the years. It was a great trip down memory lane and a lovely way to get an understanding of the parties they throw and the variety of special music that has been shared. It's a super varied selection! She closes the last 45mins with a lovely club-ready mix and house and techno. I warm up with a selection of chug, italo and slow-house.

Ben English is a Berlin based English DJ who excels in uplifting and captivating a dance floor. Having his roots based in old school deep house, the concrete basslines and timeless grooves that feature in his sets have become a staple of his sound. “Fuera de caja” it’s a parallel project of Cymatix where the invited artists show their other side of the music outside the world of clubbing .

Samuel was influenced by music from an early age, learned to play guitar when he was 10 years old and began to explore the world of composition. As the years passed, he began to discover all kinds of music including electronic music.
Interested by its futuristic and visionary sounds he began producing electronic music at the age of 18.
In 2017 Samuel began playing recurrently his hometown Bogotá. 

He co-founded his own line of event called UnderPleasure.
In 2019 he co-founded his own independent label called From The Void Above whose aim is to promote different artists that resonates with his musical vision, FTVA is a vinyl only label based in Bogotá Colombia. His latest project is a BC exclusive label called Tastes Like Acid, where he focuses its vision to uncover hidden talents mainly from South America.

Young expertly guides through the whisps of electro and stitches together a compelling narrative. The artist demonstrates what fine talent there is coming out of their small pocket in Asia. A futuristic sound yet still holding onto the elements of the analogue characteristics this genre was created with. A great session from a great artist and one to keep an eye on in the near future! SpillCast 22 - Denman

The fifteenth mix in the series comes in via the form of a live recording from the legend that is, Lee Renacre aka 100Hz.

Originally formed of three members and now ran by Lee, 100Hz is a prolific electronic recording artist who’s been producing the funkier side of house and techno since 1989. Known for his sultry, stripped down grooves paired with sinister vocals and odd beat patterns, he has carved a truly unique style of electronic music blurring the lines between house, techno and jazz. An iconic track, 'Whisper' is however anything but sinister - full of hope, the track meanders through introspective thoughts on love and positivity. 

Early releases on Optimism as well as his own Format label laid the foundations for a back catalogue of highly sought after records including EPs on Oblong and Pacific in the mid 90s right up to the current day with releases on the minimal labels, Amphia and Curtea Veche. 

100Hz was recognised by Mixmag in 1997 as one of the pioneering UK producers of the time, helping to create a new genre of dance music. His sound pioneered the slightly obscure UK Tech House sound of the 90s which has come into serious demand in recent years. 100Hz's sound is simply integral in the sound of UK underground dance music. 

The live mix was recorded recently in his South London studio.

Originally from France and now currently based in Berlin, Just1 put together a one hour mix, switching between Dubby downtempo beats and some trip-Hop. As a  Visual artist, she is involved with Banana Box TV & 192 GmbH. Catch her playing alongside her collective "Alter le Future" with Micha and Tau Car. 

Keep an eye on her! We hope to see Just1 playing in Hamburg again soon.
