Antimatter (MT) offers 3 slices of celestial techno. All tracks delve into hypnotic bleepy rhythms and outer space soundscapes that will challenge your very notion of time and space while pulsating to their groove.

Portuguese Nuno Costa, aka VIL, gives a powerful rendition of Time is my curse, injecting a fast groove and piercing stabs on top of an irresistible rolling bassline.

Marcelo Antonio's remix of Trails moves onto minimal tones and refined beats. The Chilean producer adds further depth and soul, creating a more intimate dancefloor affair.

Following an impressive first edition, renowned DJ/Producer Marcel Fengler’s IMF imprint is back with another immersive VA from faces old and new. 

Undeniably electrifying from open to close, ‘HARDPROOF 02’ masterfully captures the varying shades of raw, contemporary Techno, delivering an unparalleled selection of captivating dancefloor weapons.  

Spanish newcomers Ill Communication’s track ‘Gabapentina’ rounds off the VA with another slice of stunning musicality. A relentless tide of industrial rhythms and coarse percussion bring a slightly tribal tinge, complemented by the ebb and flow of sweeping synth lines, dissolving pads and a glitchy vox loop.

Opening with the Vangelis inspired Present Voyage then weaving a path through gritty throbbing bass, exemplified by Arrival and on to minimized funk of Disco Diva and Need House, Sonic Intervention progresses naturally on through the swirling tension of Get Up and crescendos with the combination of floor-burner NZT and the old-school Electro stomping Electric Pandemic; featuring the vocals of Detroit Grand Pubas Paris Du Black Fu. When quizzed on his motivations behind his latest studio album, The Advent stated I wanted to do something quite personal for this first album and delve a little bit into the past to get inspiration from my influences to make an album that reflected all the musical genres I have been inspired by over the years electro, electronica, tech house - not just the techno tracks. Future music from a past master, made for the here and now.

Belgian based Phara makes a huge debut on @soma with "The Great Attractor" EP. With his fast, raw and energetic sound, Phara’s ascent has been quick off the mark and this latest release has the young producer stretch himself farther with cleverly produced and exciting tracks. UK Techno don, Setaoc Mass backs up this already masterful EP, lending his own prowess to the title track.

Great Attractor leans on 90s, spaced-out techno vibes as fast paced 909s fire against the backdrop of rapid, modulating synths. Setaoc Mass’ remix comes up next, offering a deeper more restrained affair. However, as usual, the adept nature of his productions deal out devastating effect. On the flip, Mission 3,2,1 delves into dubbed out synth work whilst retaining drive and groove. Further dub explorations are found on closing track The Andromeda Manoeuvre. Spacial synth work and atmospherics ebb and flow as Phara’s hard hitting and relentless percussive work deals the final blow.

Premiere: Phara "Great Attractor" (Setaoc Mass Remix) - Soma Records

After the success of his Uncage debut EP "SUP?" last summer which was supported by a some of the major tastemakers of the scene, we're really happy to welcome back fast-rising Ackermann from Stuttgart, Germany for his second EP on the label. 

He didn't mess around this time and delivered two straight driving techno bombs in his bouncy head-bopping style! On top there are brilliant remixes by two of the best upcoming producers at the moment: Gene Richards Jr., who is coming hot after his debut EPS on Uncage anD Truncate's WRKTRX. 

Also on the remix duties is Brazil's finest Marcal, who is dropping bombs left and right in 2020 on labels such as Rekids or Planet Rhythm.  Break your neck to these!

Ackermann - Consciousness (Marcal Remix)

Now an established force in contemporary Techno, Mike Bierbach, better known under his stage name Rødhåd is someone who has seriously put in the work. Having cut his teeth DJing as a relatively unnoted (but well loved by those in the know) local in Berlin for 10 years, one could argue that by the time success knocked on his door, he was more than ready for playing the international stage. It was during these 10 years of obscurity when he refined his craft to become the singular DJ he is now. 

Launching his party-series-turned-label Dystopian in 2009 was what truly tipped the ball over for Rødhåd. In a time where the Berlin scene was heavily oversaturated by fluffy, miscellaneous dance music, he & his peers set out to form a platform for real techno. The reception to this was raucous. 

Although he has lauded productions and remixes to his name, DJing is his true forte. Before abandoning his day job as a draftsman in construction “The Red” (as some call him due to his gingered, bearded appearance) was known for playing very long sets in Berlin’s most notorious hideaways. 

With an album, several EPs & remixes for a multitude of different artists under his belt, Rødhåd the producer has received equal praise as Rødhåd the DJ. Dystopian has hosted most of his releases, but in 2018 he founded a new label WSNWG that serves as a home for collaborative productions, excavated in sessions at his East-Berlin studio with his peers such as Lucy, Alex.Do, & Antigone.
