Producers are the backbone of any label; developing supportive and genuine relationships with our artists is the core principle of XYZ's development. Our Oppo series is an ode to the figures that we feel are at the foundation of the label's journey thus far.

Emotional Tourist has cemented himself as a pillar of XYZ’s artistic direction over the last two years. The Romanian first caught the ear via an rhythmically groovy remix of DSF, and last year’s The Day The World Meets You showcased the Emotional Tourist sound in its finest forms.

Oppo gives full creative control to the producer, who essentially functions as the label head on the project. Curating sounds from artists around the world who've influenced his journey thus far, as well as a pristine production of his own, Emotional Tourist presents a project that fully represents his tastes as an artist.

XYZ faithful are well aware of Mitch Oliver’s knack for ominous and punchy productions by now. The Montrealer has thoroughly impressed over the last year, which began with his Alleghanys took the world by storm. He’s back in the depths of winter to provide further sound solace. Azure keeps minds moving with meandering synths and an ever present kick, igniting any dance floor in need of a spark.

Rodrigo Rodriguez (born 29 August 1978) is a Spanish shakuhachi player, musical producer, and composer. Born in the Argentina, Rodrigo lived and grew up in Spain from the decade of the 80s.
He has lived and studied shakuhachi in Japan under the discipline of the Master Kaoru Kakizakai in The International ShakuhachiKenshunkanSchool andwithKohachiroMiyata oneof Japan's leadingplayers ofthe shakuhachi.
In 2008 he put out the album "Various Artists Music That Illuminates Your Life" by the record company Gemini Sun Records which was distributed by ADA / Warner Music Group sharing multi -artist compilation with artists as David Arkenstone and Terry Oldfield.
On August 28, 2008 his third album "Beyond the Times" was chosen by John Diliberto and Echoes as one of the Top 25 Albums.
Rodrigohasperformedworldwide,atstageslikeImperialHotelTokyo,NHKCultureevents, andintheTemple Kōtoku-in of the "Great Buddha" of Kamakura city which is one of the most famous icons of Japan.
In 2012 he was invited to perform in Moscow, in the Tchaikovsky Conservatory for the International Festival "Nihon No Kokoro" which is directed by scientific and creative“World Music Cultures Center" of the Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory.

Wow, hadn't realised what a journey SoundCloud would take me on.  After many years of passive listening to music I've dieted on a variety of tastes. My appetite for new sounds is undiminished and SC provides plenty of food. I am not a musician and have only recently started to listen positively to the sounds. My early years began listening to music from ABC, The Beatles, The Carpenters Dire Straits Eagles Fleetwood Mac Genesis Elton John Led Zeppelin Gilbert O'Sullivan Rod Stewart Supertramp Tangerine Dream Vangelis The Who and many more.
