First instalment of Sonic Spells sees the curator himself, Entire, present his first mix since a very long time. Contains carefully selected pieces that deeply resonate with his soul. Music from Undveld, Skee Mask, Ekin Fil, ENA, Felix Krone, Cloistral, Forest On Stasys, RVSHES, The Vision Reels, DB1, Fresnel Lens, Yosuke Tokunaga, Monic and a fair share of his own (unreleased & released) music.

This is an extended and modified version of his live set "Contemplations On Love" performed on 14.02.2024 at Love Your Soma event held in Transformator, Wrocław.

Back for his third and most experimental release on the label Roel Funcken delves into dark and dreamlike states with the latest 'Dreampty' EP. On this five-tracker Funcken combines downtempo and bass heavy rhythm with slowly evolving and moody soundscapes, displaying a love for deep and intuitive electronica. Offering many of the instantly recognizable Funckarma sounds this EP works both on the dancefloor as it does on headphone. Key tracks are the cold and desolate 'Jeptic Une' and haunting 'Dreampty' whereas 'Zink Blession' sounds warm, almost 'oldschool' in the best way possible. Most accessible and genuine soundsystem material is the remix for Cyance titled 'Demonic'. 'Spone' is a great bonus only appearing digitally.

The 'Dreampty' EP is pressed on a 10" white vinyl and folded inside a poster with amazing artwork by Shift. Ultra limited edition of 200 plus free download coupon.

Helena Hauff - L'Homme Mort

Roel Funcken officially popped up on the scene in 2010, with his solo debut, titled Vade, out on Ad Noiseam. But fans of electronic music, and IDM in general, have been tracking this Dutch musician for over a decade prior, when, along with his brother, Don, the duo has released some of the genre defining music on labels such as Djak-Up-Bitch, Schematic, Sublight Records, Neo Ouija, n5MD , Arcola (Warp) as the one and only Funckarma. In 2009 the Funcken brothers kicked off their very own, digital-only, Funcken Industry imprint, which hosted a few of their other projects and offshoots, such as Shadow Huntaz, Scone, Quench, Automotive, and the latest from Roel's solo works. Roel continues to influence the evolution of music through numerous releases (Sapper Morton on Analogical Force, Semtinal Convex on Methlab and Prester Hynn on his own imprint to name a few) and active engagement in the community, with music festival curation, mixes on mixlr and soundcloud and weekly playlists on Soundcloud and spotify. Roel's music is advanced in sound design, often incorporating unique experimentation in electronic sound, with cut-up, twisted, atmospheric sonic soundscapes, leaving the cranium always begging for more. His ambient textures maintain a cinematic quality throughout, while his percussive arrangements retain a constantly mutating framework, always reconstructing its rhythm and structure, contradicting complex configurations and minimal design. It's always a pleasure to taste the latest treat from this aural engineer, and find the latest gem in his never-ending arsenal of sound.
