Paddy's Delhi is pretty much what the title suggests...a fusion of Celtic harmony and melody  supported by a tabla driven rhythm.  Add in bass and drums to the rhythm section, some wild sopranino recorder, Celtic harp, and accordion, and the name Paddy's Delhi makes perfect sense!

THROW IT AWAY

Here are three of my favorite jazz covers for flute. I don't often record non-original material, but these are pieces I have known and loved for years.  "Flute Thing" was originally done by The Blues Project, and was a very early influence on me as a flutist.  I tracked this one several years ago, but never released it.  "Sea Journey" is a new recording of one of my many favorite Chick Corea compositions.  I love playing this on keyboards as much as I do on flute.  "Impressions of Aranjuez", a recording begun several years ago but only recently finished, is a condensed version of the famed "Concierto de Aranjuez" by Rodrigo, which jazz fans might know as the intro to Chick Corea's "Spain".  I hope you enjoy these recordings as much as I did making them.

This is my cover of the 1973 classic pop-soul hit by Timmy Thomas. It's been "in the can" since 2010,  but sitting dormant until now. With the current breaking point state of socio-political affairs in the world of 2016, it feels like the right time to get this message out...

This is an original composition by a student of mine, Nelson Jorge. He played the organ intro and programmed the loops for the main body of the song, and I added live congas on the top. Offered here just in time for Halloween, and sure to be a phantasmic hit on your Halloween party playlist!

Sambas aren't the only kind of groove I like, but I have composed several in this style. Here's another one recorded a few years ago but as yet unreleased. It's a massive groove with powerful drums, a big horn section, and tasty guitar & keyboard solos. Featuring John Hyde on keyboards, Jack Mears on guitar, Denny Pelletier on drums, and yours truly on keyboard bass, electronic horn/brass samples, and congas.

Losing Lennon was like losing a big brother I never had, and I was heartbroken. 40 years later now, I remember how deep an influence he was for me at a very impressionable time in my life. What I cherished about him was his sometimes brutal honesty, his brilliant wit, and his courage to be himself at any cost. And as complex and challenging as he was at times for the world to understand, when it came to the subject of Love, his ability to elegantly and simply get to the essence of the subject was pure genius. Recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, performer, and composer Roger Ebacher brings over 40 years of professional stage and studio experience to his table of musical offerings. Appearing on his own highly reviewed recordings as a consummate flutist including "Flutation Device" & "Backyard Carneval", with numerous additional guest CD appearances on a variety of instruments, Roger's roots and branches cover many styles. Jazz, fusion, Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, reggae, Latin Jazz, Flamenco, African, and other world musics all come into play with his uniquely original compositions and dynamic live performances. He is also an in-demand percussionist (congas, bongos, dumbek, kalimba, etc.), singer, and keyboardist, and as such is comfortable and highly skilled in a variety of musical settings. Roger has twice been the featured guest artist on Boston's premier jazz radio program, Eric in the Evening (WGBH-FM, 89.7), and his music has been on the airwaves all over North America, Europe, and as far east as India, Thailand, and Russia. Since 2008 Roger's world music project, The Air Department, has dipped deeply into the music of the Middle East, India, and Brazil, mixing it with Ambient, Electronica, Downtempo, and more. With five releases to date available worldwide, this music is a veritable sonic stew for adventurous listeners in today's evolving musical universe. 

Roger's latest releases, "With You in a Moment" (2016) and "Blueish Grey" (2014) mark the first recordings in several years which he has released under his own name. And while he has played most of the instruments on his more recent recordings, these outings are something of a tour de force of his talents, as he is heard here on all instruments exclusively on both new recordings.
